Everton set to sack their manager TODAY and also confirm a replacement

According to SunSport, Marco Silva is expected to be sacked within hours with David Moyes poised to replace him.

Everton are allegedly preparing to announce end Silva’s contract after 18 months in charge come the end of Monday with the club sitting 15th in the Premier League table.

Farshad Moshiri, the majority shareholder, is said to have sped up the process to give him the boot after he and and chairman Bill Kenwright listened to the fans complaints in their loss against Norwich.

The Mirror say that Silva met with the Everton owner on Saturday evening and said his instinct was to remain loyal for as long as possible.

Though it’s also said that Moshiri spoke with his board again on Sunday, and heard the majority feel Silva’s departure is inevitable.

David Unsworth, boss of the Under-23s and a previous caretaker manager, is thought to have been told to take first-team training.

Moyes had 11 seasons at Goodison and even led the Toffees into the Champions League qualifiers by finishing 4th with them in the 2004/05 season.

He is open to taking up the role and is thought to still have a warm relationship with chairman Bill Kenwright and is expected to be given a contract until the end of the season with an option to extend for at least a further two years.

David Moyes was most recently manager of West Ham United, he came in mid-season and kept them up with two games left.

He hasn’t got the best record, having a 29% win rating at the Hammers and won eight games out of 43 with Sunderland.

He’s also managed Manchester United and Real Sociedad.
