Man Utd fans unhappy after spotting Newcastle supporters in the home end at Old Trafford

Man Utd fans showed just unhappy they were after spotting some Newcastle United supporters in the home end at Old Trafford mid-game.

Some videos of the moment emerged onto social media, and have quickly gone viral, with one of the clips captioned: “Man U fans want us out hahahahahahaha”

The 7,000 Newcastle fans who were in the away end also directed a number of chants at Erik ten Hag that sum up the state of Man Utd.

Β

They took inspiration from Man City fans who last week sang: “Old Trafford is falling down, Ten Hag is a f**king clown, Glazers staying 10 more years, Geordie Boys are on the beers!

Aimed at Ten Hag, Newcastle fans chanted: “You’re getting sacked in the morning!” along with “Are you Sunderland in disguise?”

Newcastle’s official social media account also took to aim a dig at Man Utd after booking their spot in the next round of the competition.

The game itself saw Man Utd lose 3-0 at Old Trafford for second consecutive game following Sunday’s derby defeat to Man City.

Newcastle, despite changing eight players, started with five full-backs and no striker but had too much for Erik ten Hag’s side and play Chelsea in the Carabao Cup quarter final.

Player ratings (via Sky Sports)

Man Utd: Onana (6); Dalot (4), Maguire (5), Lindelof (5), Reguilon (4); Casemiro (4), Hannibal (4), Mount (4); Antony (4), Martial (4), Garnacho (4).

Newcastle: Dubravka (6), Livramento (9), Dummett (8), Krafth (7), Targett (N/A); Hall (8), Longstaff (7), Willock (8); Joelinton (7), Gordon (8), Ritchie (7).

Subs: Almiron (8), Wilson (6), Guimaraes (6), Burn (6), Trippier (6).

Player of the match: Tino Livramento.

“We know it’s not good enough,” Ten Hag told Sky Sports.

“We have to take responsibility for it. I have to take responsibility for it. I have to say sorry to the fans as it was below our standards and we have to put it right.

“We have to recover from it and we have to do it quickly. Saturday is the next game [against Fulham] and we have to raise our standards. This is not good enough.

“We have [enough quality], The players will stand up. They are sticking together. You have seen they tried but we know this is not good enough, I am responsible for this and we have to do this together.

“To get your confidence, first you have to play and you get confidence when you get the right result. It’s only possible when you’re following the rules, the principles, winning your battles and bringing the fight.

“You have to do this as a team. The only way is to stick together, but you have to be disciplined, everyone has to cooperate and be accountable.

“We still sleep on this, then pick the team and the tactics. The most important thing is to put our mentality right.”

“It was a massive performance from the players and I can’t credit them enough,” said Eddie Howe.

“Some great stories, only (an injury to) Matt Targett the negative, but even more credit to the players and some giant performances.

“I personally have always found it a difficult ground and Newcastle the same so another thing to be really proud of is the commitment showed by everyone. I thought we showed some great goals, the quality was a real highlight.

“We are determined to try and do well in every game. We picked a team we felt could win and now we will do the same for Arsenal (on Saturday).”

This is how Twitter users reacted to the video of Man Utd fans unhappy after spotting Newcastle supporters in the home end at Old Trafford…

@TomYates9820: Can’t be true they sell out every week and have a 10 year waiting list for youth team games

@MartinWriggles1: Wonder who left first ha ha ⚫️βšͺ️⚫️βšͺ️

@ljacks1118: Most noise those lot made all half… only performance worse than the MUFC team is the fans

@Shepster4945: That is just quality πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈπŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜βš«οΈβšͺ️⚫️

@johnnywells: Those Newcastle fans were probably the only fans actually from the north in that section.

@Davi87860221Tom: Most passion the showed all game πŸ˜‚

@WayneEst1962: Come half time you could sit anywhere in the home end πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ‘‹πŸ‘‹πŸ‘‹πŸ‘‹πŸ‘‹πŸ‘‹πŸ‘‹ United

@RyanWri98225856: Done fuck all on the pitch and did fuck all in the stands. We proper took the piss πŸ˜‚πŸ€£

@izzyslovenian: To be fair when they bought their season tickets a few weeks back they supported Man Utd..

@carlgavin19: Kept quiet when there was thousands of turks in there tho

@Areeb0405: Jokes on them because their train ride to London is longer than ours back to home

@calvin_pkl: Pretty sure they should be more concerned by what’s happening on the pitch HAHAH

@Jessaroo1881: But United fans thought it was normal to sit in the home ends at Watford every season. Oh well, I suppose it is close to London and all that.

@nath_b03: Yet again. Another prime example of this non existent β€œ50 year waiting list”. Utter bollocks them lot thinking their still currently a decent clubπŸ˜‚more empty seats than us these days hahaha

@DanielNUFC85: To be fair NUFC fans would be fuming the other way round. In fact there was similar videos when we played Liverpool at home recently. I really don’t agree with taking tickets off home fans.

@lcfchamez: Understandable he wanted to go and see the stadium for one last time before it falls down

@NUFCgallowgate: They didn’t kick off at us in the North Stand. Too many of us. 🀣

@stressed_rob: They’re just jealous the NUFC fans have a shorter drive than them going back to Surrey.

@titan_toon: It really wasn’t a problem, there were plenty empty seats after 60 minutes

@Grumite: I was in the Stretford end! Impossible to get tickets in the away end but if I get an opportunity to see Newcastle play, I’m taking it. First time I’ve been able to get to a game since Southampton away in 2020!

@JasonSpellman15: Didn’t do nothing when galatasaray were in there end πŸ€”

@darren_tv: We see sports where fans mix in the stands, it is always well behaved and joyful to see. Rugby as an example. I wonder what’s so special about football that makes it such a territorial thing. They aren’t in your living room. You don’t own that seat or stand. Enjoy the game πŸ‘πŸ»

@MickHodgson23: Yet they never said a word when it was Galatasaray

@BowenWilkie: What they moaning for. Most of them will start supporting Newcastle pretty soon anyway. Ain’t that how glory hunting works.

@seatonmag: Happy that they have thousands of tourists taking pictures of Newcastle played at corners at 3 nil down.
