Man City player Matheus Nunes was last month arrested, sent to police cells in handcuffs and released for an incident in a nightclub.
The 26 year old was reportedly confronted by a 58-year-old male who tried to take a photo of him without permission in the bathroom of the La Riviera venue in the early hours on the 8th of September.
Spanish media outlet El Mundo say that Nunes allegedly took the man’s phone, leading to his arrest for alleged theft around 5.30am, confirmed by the Madrid Police Headquarters.

Following the incident, Nunes was taken to a police station in Madrid’s Arganzuela neighborhood for questioning and later released without being brought before a court on the same day.
Despite the arrest, Nunes has continued to play for Man City, featuring in matches shortly after the incident, including games against Brentford, Watford, and Slovan Bratislava.
Guardiola said of Nunes after Tuesday night’s Champions League win against Slovan Bratislava: “We need him. His pace is unique, his runs and for the way they defend maybe we can create the space in that position. His shot, can adapt.”
Nunes, who signed for Man City from fellow Premier League side Wolves for £53m, has had limited playing time but remains an expensive asset for the club and with the amount of competitions City are competing in, the Club World cup also around the corner, he can expect potentially more game time.
His arrest came during an international break, not being selected for Portugal’s matches.
He is said to have snatched the mobile in a fit of anger and refused to give it back, still holding on to phone at the time of being arrested.
He was in handcuffs, taken to a National Police station and released a few hours later with the help of a lawyer.
El Mundo reported he is expected to face charges and trial over the incident.
A spokesman for the National Police in Madrid said: ‘I can confirm a Portuguese national was arrested in the early hours of September 8 at a Madrid nightclub on suspicion of stealing another person’s mobile phone.’
The police force stated that the man arrested was born in 1998, the same year Man City midfielder Matheus Nunes was born, but said it was unable to comment on whether the suspect was the footballer.
A well-placed source said: ‘This matter will now be resolved by way of a trial in court.’
Nunes had reportedly been in Madrid with his pals.
