Maidstone United player Chi Ezennolim has been mocked by Weymouth for his ’embarrassing’ reaction to having a ball kicked at him.
The Terras fell to a 3-2 defeat at home, with the result taking Maidstone to 8th in the National League South table with 12 points from 7 games played.
Weymouth are down in 20th with 7 points from 7 games, a place above the drop zone. But it seems one moment in the weekend’s game has stuck with them.
Weymouth tweeted: “@Teddyhowee’s clearly been putting in the hard work on leg day 😉”
To which Thomas Taylor @Thomasjtaylor92 said: “Thoughts and prayers to the Maidstone player who was seriously injured by this 🙄. Looked life threatening”
Weymouth cheekily tweeted back with a ‘he could have been killed# Sir Alex Ferguson GIF…

The game itself saw Weymouth go ahead through Charlie Rowan on 26 minutes with a header before Maidstone got one back shortly after when Reynolds provided the perfect delivery for Levi Amantchi who also headed the ball into the net from close range.
The hosts went back in front on 50 minutes, Maidstone tried to play short, with Aransibia intercepted following Bone’s pass and Ben Thomson placed his effort into the bottom right hand corner.
Again, Maidstone hit back quick after falling behind, just 10 minutes with Liam Sole sending in a cross to the back post for the unmarked Amantchi who headed into the net with ease.
Then with around 15 minutes left on the clock, Raphe Brown made his way down the right and delivered it towards Liam Sole who cooly finishes from close range to put Maidstone ahead.
Teddy Howe received a yellow for ‘bringing down’ Ezennolim, with Maidstone holding on for all three points.
Weymouth manager Bobby Wilkinson to uptheterras.co.uk: “It was a very entertaining game but their three goals just aren’t good enough.
“You’ve got to stop the deliveries. I’m really frustrated with the goals. I never go for my players but that isn’t good enough defending, you’ve got to be better.
“I come out every single week and support my boys, and I’ll continue, but you won’t get away with those three goals.
“If you stop the crosses, we win the game. We’re 2-1, we’re cruising, we’re playing well and then we concede a sloppy goal.
“We will be better, we will have to work on it.
“We could’ve won, we should’ve won. They put the ball in the box three times and scored three goals.
“We had a lot of chances to put the ball in the box in the last 25 minutes and we didn’t do that.”
Maidstone United manager George Elokobi said, as per KentOnline: “A massive credit to Craig Fagan for the work he puts in with our attacking players.
“He knows that role emphatically and he helps our attacking players and our midfield players ever so much doing extra training, extra finishing sessions, to give them that positional sense where the ball is going to fall when they are in and around the 18-yard box or the six-yard box.
“It’s good to see Levi full of confidence, taking on board what Craig has been working on, and we’ve seen Liam Sole make a fantastic run for his goal.
“Craig is a massive help to me because we’re beginning to see how our attacking players are operating – and there’s plenty more to come.”
