After reading a players’ statement on not being paid on time again by Macclesfield Town which nearly saw them not play their final league game of the season, fans took to social media to give their reaction…
The team have been epic continuing to play. My concern now lies with who will now want to play for us next year. I’d give the club a wide birth unless nobody else wanted me.

Can only respect Silkmen for doing the right thing by the club, but what a mess. Not the only club in turmoil, but with no revenue until August and now no chairman, you have to question sustainability. This leaves so much uncertainty it is unfair to them and other clubs too.

It’s astonishing in some ways. Macclesfield area must have the highest ratio of millionaires than anywhere else outside of the freak London bubble !

The longer the current owner is in power, the worse the situation could get as no income coming in, were banking on early season ticket sales to pay March's wages and now a 75k debt to settle next month to HMRC. Change needs to happen

The huge amount of tweets continued to come in…
Relegate to Conference and reinstate @Official_NCFC? #saveourpies

@5liveSport @talkSPORT how can the @EFL let this continue time and time again it’s a joke

Fair play to the Macc players saw a bigger picture including fans. Shame shop steward Taylor at BWFC didn’t see it the same way

Bit unfair if Yeovil and Notts county have dropped but managed to pay their way while macc have not. Same with bury who have spent money they don’t have and are lording it over clubs who have competed within their means. EFL are incompetent idiots

Yet they didn't and played for the fans and kept us up in the @EFL. These players deserve better and it they all want to leave and find owners who will pay them then it would not surprise me in the slightest.
