Macclesfield Town have been hit with yet another blow to their survival hopes after being handed yet another charge from the EFL.
They failed to pay several players their March wages on time, meaning they could face a points deduction that would relegate them from League Two.

The matter is with an independent disciplinary commission and if the club are found guilty a points deduction is possible. Macclesfield are second bottom of League Two, three points above Stevenage.
In May they were given a seven-point deduction for the failure to play December’s match against Plymouth and for the non-payment of wages.
The Silkmen Supporters’ Trust (SST) had already donated £10,000 to the club to help pay the remaining 20% of wages for April after all players and staff were placed on furlough.
An EFL statement said: “The club has been charged with failing to pay a number of players on the applicable payment dates due in March 2020, whilst also failing to act with utmost good faith in respect of matters with the EFL and for breaching an order, requirement, direction or instruction of the league.”
The club statement said: Macclesfield Town can confirm that notification has been received from the English Football League, which charges the Club with further regulation breaches – all of which are relating to the payment of salaries due at the end of March 2020.
The Club are deeply surprised by these charges, as the Arbitration Panel at our last hearing adjudicated the following after close examination of all the relevant evidence –
“…the Commission should make it clear that it does not consider MTFC’s tardiness (yet again) to pay the players’ renumeration for March on time necessarily requires a further charge. Given it’s reasoning and conclusions as above, it would require strong persuasion to impose a yet further points deduction for any such breach…”
Macclesfield Town will understandably be appealing these charges vehemently and will provide a further update in due course.

On the plus side for Amar atleast he’s milking it right to the end having swindled £10k out of the Supporters Trust within the last couple of weeks. You have to take your hat off to the bloke really. Maybe the SST will just empty their bank account over to Amar now?

Interesting they’ve been charged with late payment of wages when another local club are constantly failing to pay players and staff on time…
