Liverpool fans clash and rip out seats at Wolves; Jurgen Klopp refuses to answer question

Liverpool fans took to clash with each other and rip out seats at Wolves; while Jurgen Klopp refuses to answer a journalist’s question.

Those of whom left in the away end to see the end of what was another embarrassing showing from the Reds, heard the home faithful with cheers of “Ole” every time one pass met another Wolves player.

Earlier in the second half of Liverpool’s 3-0 defeat, the home fans loudly taunted the German as he stood on the touchline, with chants of “You’re getting sacked in the morning” heard after Ruben Neves tapped in Wolves’ third and crush hopes of a comeback from the visitors.

Wolves fans didn’t stop the mocking, with a verse of “Can we play you every week?” during the closing moments. Next up for Liverpool it is rivals Everton, who won against league leaders Arsenal at the weekend.

Asked by journalist from The Athletic, James Pearce, whether the team’s poor starts this season were down to an issue with mentality, Klopp answered: ‘It’s very difficult to talk to you if I’m 100 per cent honest. I would prefer not to do that.’

He claimed that he was refusing to answer the reporter’s question due to his coverage of the club, but added that he was happy to elaborate on the topic if another member of the media asked.

‘You know why, for all the things you wrote. So If somebody else wanted to ask that question then I’ll answer it and if not.’

Another put the same question to Klopp, who then went on to admit that his side’s tendency to have slow starts was concerning, and went on to say the defeat on Saturday represented the nadir of the club’s season so far.

‘Yes that’s true, we had that subject through the first part of this season, now not so much. But today it was the pinnacle of our problems because in a game like this it is absolutely not allowed.

‘You can criticise, you can judge us you can say whatever you want and you are probably right, I have nothing to say against that because these twelve minutes are not allowed.

‘Coming here with all the things we did in the last few days and during the whole season so far what we want, and then we arrive here and this is the outcome that’s really hard to take I have to say.’

“The start of the game was horrible, it is not allowed to happen,” said Klopp.

“There is the first 12 minutes, then it is OK for an away performance, where we created, we were there. We started extremely well in the second half, the first 20 to 25 minutes, it is a super away game without scoring. Then they score the third goal from a counter-attack.

“We caused our own misery in that first 12 minutes. That cannot happen. It did. But it cannot. It is really tough to swallow. You can criticise, you can judge and you are probably right. I have nothing to say because these 12 minutes are not allowed.

“It is really difficult to summarise. The team is not full of confidence, but do you need a lot of confidence for that? To put your body between the ball and opponent? Stop the cross?

“How can I not be concerned? I cannot sit here and say it is ok because it is not. I got asked if it is because of last season, 63 games. It is clear that has influenced the start of the season but how long can we suffer that? It is February by my watch.

“It might have been a problem but today, the first 12 minutes, it is not allowed and this is outcome. This is not a 3-0 how a 3-0 looks with Wolves clearly better side. Maybe for 12 minutes and the end when the ball was their friend again.”

Klopp went on to say he hadn’t lost belief in himself as a coach – or his players who have brought him such success at Liverpool but are now falling short of their best form.

“I don’t think they are at their best at the moment but I still know how good they are and how good they can be. But we cannot help ourselves in this moment.

“Seven or eight players weren’t involved in the first goal, seven or eight players weren’t involved in the second goal, but all are affected by it.

“The start is horrible. Then it is normal, it is great. OK, no finishing. But at the moment it is always if if if and I can’t hear it anymore.”

This is what Twitter users said as Liverpool fans clash with each other and rip out seats at Wolves while Jurgen Klopp refuses to answer a journalist’s question…

@WolfOutOfWater: Unbelievable. Get the CCTV out and get them a lifetime ban.

@WareingAndy: Justice for our seats

@andyroden: Send them the bill 👍

@Wolvo59: They just can’t take being smashed all over the park by Wolves…

@GordonW80156224: During his interviews before the game did Klippetty say they needed to come away with something from this game? 🤔😉😁

@KingTom92: Bunch of wankers

@MrMattBoden1997: @LFC this is what your fan base do best!😂😂😂😂

@LIVE_LOVE_MCFC: Apparently the seats started flapping up and down by themselves very quickly, which resulted in the seats coming away from their hinges. Poltergeist are now being accused and they have called in Yvette Fielding to try and contact Derek Acorah to gain an apology from the spirits!

@MrMattBoden1997: The fuckers are at it again 😂

@Wwfcwolf1: When this happens they should bill the club of the fans responsible for the damage.

@alwolf9: Send them the bill

@PStandall: And sod all will done about it….

@NickAllen224: If you’re a fan travelling to an away game, you are a guest in the house of the home team, it doesn’t matter who you’re playing. Treat it with some fucking respect. Liverpool fans, I get you’re frustrated because we embarrassed you today, but this is unacceptable. #WWFC #WOLLIV

@phil_wwfc: Good job they don’t lose as often as us. No Class! Bunch of kids, actually threw seats across their own supporters, apparently a kid Liverpool Fan) got hit by a seat thrown by these arseholes. #LFC

@MelbourneWolf: We should reduce their allocation by 100 for every damaged seat, let Wolves fans have those seats. And they wonder why they are the most popular fan base amongst other teams 🤣🤣🤣

@wv_1877: Pretends to be shocked

@AshleyBooker55: Liverpool fans not taking their dramatic decline too well, then?

@VincentMerrick: Send them the bill….
