In this article, we take a look at a list of over 200 Championship free agents released by clubs following the 2022/23 season.
Teams will be looking to strengthen and replace those injured or in need of a boost with some names looking to secure themselves a new club to call home for the foreseeable future.
Retained lists are being released across the second tier, which will see a flood of free agents into the summer transfer market.

Goalkeeper Lukas Jensen will also depart Turf Moor upon his contract expiry at the end of this month.

Hull City
The club has exercised one-year options on captain Lewie Coyle, midfielder Greg Docherty and forward Vaughn Covil.
Young goalkeeper David Robson, whose current contract expires this summer, has been offered a new deal.
Forwards Tyler Smith and Billy Chadwick will not be retained when their contracts expire on 30th June. Smith scored five goals in 39 matches for the Tigers, while Hull-born Chadwick made nine senior appearances after progressing through the club’s academy.
Left-back Callum Elder will also be leaving after four years in East Yorkshire.
Loan players Nathan Baxter, Aaron Connolly, Karl Darlow, Malcolm Ebiowei and Dimitrios Pelkas have returned to their parent clubs.
Defender Jevon Mills, who was out of contract this summer, has agreed a new one-year deal, with a club option of a further year.
The following players are under contract for the 2023/24 season: Jack Leckie and Jim Simms.

Luton Town
Following the expiration of their contracts, we have exercised the option for a further year for Gabe Osho, Dan Potts and Elliot Thorpe.
Negotiations are ongoing with Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu, Tom Lockyer, Amari’i Bell and Luke Berry with a view to extending their time at Kenilworth Road.
Ethan Horvath, Cody Drameh and Marvelous Nakamba will return to their parent clubs following the end of their loan spells, we would like to thank them for their fantastic contributions to this historic season.
Matt Macey, Glen Rea, Dion Pereira, Carlos Mendes Gomes and John McAtee will return to the club following the expiration of their loan spells away from Kenilworth Road.
Captain Sonny Bradley, Henri Lansbury and Harry Isted will all leave the Hatters following the expiration of their contracts.
From the Development squad, we have made offers to extend the contracts of Aidan Francis-Clarke and Axel Piesold.

Middlesbrough
Goalkeeper Luke Daniels and defender Darnell Fisher, who made his first appearance in almost two years in the final league game of the season after a lengthy injury, are both set to depart.
And they are joined by Grant Hall and Joe Lumley, who spent last season on loan at Rotherham United and Reading respectively.
Also free to move on elsewhere are Isiah Cornet, Joe Ridley, Oliver Swan, and Alfie Doherty, along with scholars Louie Evans, Ash MacCarthy, and Tylah Wallace-Ming.
Contract extensions have been offered to Jeremy Sivi and Isaac Fletcher, while Fenton John, Henry Popple, and Nathan Simpson will all step up as first-year professionals.
In addition, the loans of Cameron Archer, Ryan Giles, Alex Mowatt, Rodrigo Muniz, Aaron Ramsey and Zack Steffen have all come to an end.

Elsewhere at first-team level, Ryan Leonard has been offered a new contract, with discussions ongoing, whilst Connal Trueman has been offered fresh terms. Charlie Cresswell, Jamie Shackleton, Callum Styles and Oliver Burke all return to their parent clubs following the conclusion of their loan spells.
Alfie Allen, Tyrese Briscoe, Jordan Gillmore, Arthur Penney and Ryan Sandford will depart from the club’s Under 21 set-up, with Abdul Abdulmalik, Nana Boateng, Seb Drozd and Joe Wright all offered new deals.
Nino Adom-Malaki, Kamarl Grant, Sha’mar Lawson, Tom Leahy, Chin Okoli, Kyle Smith and George Walker have had options on their contracts triggered.
