Leyton Orient sack their manager after nine months in charge following what has been a dismal spell in charge for Kenny Jackett.
The club currently sit 18th place in League Two, picking up 33 points from 30 games played for the 2021/22 season.
They are now just five points above the drop zone in what is turning out to be quite the battle to stay up for many teams down that end of the table.
The Club can confirm that it has parted company with Manager Kenny Jackett with immediate effect.#LOFC #OnlyOneOrient

CLUB STATEMENT:
The Club can confirm that it has parted company with Manager Kenny Jackett with immediate effect.
Assistant Manager Joe Gallen, who joined the Club with Kenny Jackett in the summer, will also depart his role.
We would like to place on record our thanks to Kenny and Joe, and wish them all the best for the future.
Further details regarding who will take temporary control of first team affairs will be communicated in due course.
MATCH REPORT:
Orient’s opponents Bristol Rovers only needed two goals in three first-half minutes to record a 2-0 away victory at Brisbane Road and improve their hopes of making the League Two playoffs as they claimed a third win in a row.
Both sides created chances in a action packed first half, only for the visitors to go ahead on the 34th minute when Antony Evans got on the end of a Sam Finley pass and found the net with a 20-yard shot.
The Pirates doubled their advantage three minutes later after Aaron Collins scored from a close-range effort with a tight angle after home goalkeeper Lawrence Vigouroux parried a shot.
The O’s pressed forward with more threat after the break but strikers Aaron Drinan and substitute Harry Smith both flustered good opportunities.
Smith produced an excellent save from James Belshaw to leave Rovers with a fourth clean sheet in as many games.
Orient’s dismal run continues, meaning they have collected just two points out of the last 30 to slide into a relegation battle and only managed one goal in their last nine league matches.
So Kenny Jackett leaves Leyton Orient after such a promising start at the O’s as his team lost form, with only 7 league wins, questionable transfers in January & with the team sliding down the League Two table…
We wish Kenny the best of luck for the future.

Twitter users reacted as Leyton Orient sack their manager after nine months in charge…
@croper1975: Inevitable… we couldn’t carry on like this any longer. But I’m worried who we’ll be getting next…
@OrientLiam: really wanted it to work, and i thought it would earlier in the season. players have to take a long look in the mirror, as does the board and the ‘transfer committee’
@DanAuton2590: Felt no connection to him. Bye, next #lofc
@SunshineLOFC: Expectations not being met after being given the resources to push on. Shame it didn’t work but that is football. We have a run of massive games coming up and something had to change. #lofc
@LHangles: Can’t say I agree with this but understand why it has happened. The football has been dire. Now a chance to get the 2/3 wins needed for survival and start building for next season, no “trial” period like last season please. #LOFC
@dicko86: Shame it didn’t work out in the end for him as the start of the season was a joy to watch. Results haven’t gone his way the last few months so probably the right decision @OrientOutlook #lofc
@freddielofc: It’s a shame our season has come to this as in the first half of the season we looked like a side that could challenge for promotion. However, it’s a results driven business and the form the last two months has been diabolical so have to say it’s the right decision.
@srbarber1986: Was so happy with Jackett but the latest set of results and performances have made it hard to defend him. Not sure where we go from here, hopefully not relegation but we looked like that tonight
@Nin0_Bar0ne: Didn’t work out but something needed to change, thank you and best of luck.
@EuanCarter23: @nigeltravis @dannymacca81 @MattPorter_LOFC @markdevlin7 @colemanparry that’s only half the problem get rid of ling surely he’s gotta go aswell
@PeppiattColin: Better late than never. Dinosaur manager past his sell by date. Ling next now please. Can’t be a coincidence that his hand is on every bad decision. Luke Garrard needed. Stock may be too high now though.
@billyherring03: Right decision. The next appointment is so important, please get it right! #lofc
@Alexanderjrose1: Dear #pompey fans, so sorry for not listening to the warning, my god were you spot on
@HaroldinhioKane: Clear to see in recent weeks the players have been off colour, don’t think Kenny is to take all the blame but more so the players and even the people who brought some of these players in
@Bill_JohnsonUK: I was happy to get Jackett as a manager but he has proved to be a disaster, he didn’t have a clue how to get out of this slump in form
@The_Cows_Arse: Correct decision. We are truly awful yet Jacketts tactics were as bad as anything seen at Valley Parade, the worst team to visit VP for a long time. Your fans, like ours, deserve much better.
@Daniel_Smith80: The thing is it’s not just him that needs to go ling needs to go and half these player who don’t wanna play for the badge, fucking fight for one another but some of these don’t give to fucks, players need dropping otherwise it will still be the same result on Saturday #LOFC
@18_98_PFC: As we said, the moment he gets the chance to dismantle your previous manager’s team, alienate some players and sign some dross, you’ll see Jackettball. We told you so! Oh how we told you so #pompey but credit where it is due for not taking as long as we did to purge the dinosaur
