Levi Colwill labelled as ‘disrespectful’ for tweet posted after Chelsea’s defeat to Man Utd

Levi Colwill has been labelled as ‘disrespectful’ for a tweet he posted after Chelsea’s defeat to Man Utd on Thursday night.

Chelsea’s miserable season continued with a defeat of 4-1 in Manchester, confirming United’s place in the Champions League.

The two-time European Champions will now have to settle for the bottom half in the Premier League.

Colwill’s year has been a success, as he secured Europa League football for Brighton & Hove Albion in the coming season and excelled on loan at Amex Stadium.

Brighton writer and podcaster Ryan Adset tweeted the defender saying: “Hey mate, how’s your evening going?” to which Colwill replied with a photo of him and former Chelsea player Billy Gilmour out celebrating alongside the caption: “Brilliant.”

Despite some expectation which will see Colwill will return to Stamford Bridge next season, the England U21 international admitted that he doesn’t know where his future lies.

Speaking to The Athletic, he said: “I don’t know what is going to happen [at Chelsea]. I’m still here until the end of the season. I just focus on that, we’ll see what happens.

“Brighton have done a lot for me. They put their trust in me when others didn’t.”

Meanwhile, Matt Law of the Daily Telegraph, saw all the criticism towards Colwill, and fired back to the fans, saying: “I’d say that Levi Colwill positing a pic of himself celebrating what has been a wonderful season for him and Brighton is far less of a concern for Chelsea fans than a certain player posting pics taking the piss out of people in the gym and then performing like he did last night.”

Mykhailo Mudryk, a Chelsea playr, was criticised for posting an inappropriate video showing an elderly man working out in the gym.

The 22-year-old footballer has not scored in 16 matches across all competitions since he moved to Chelsea from Shakhtar.

The Ukrainian is in the spotlight again after he appeared to mock a gym-goer. Mudryk posted a video on Tuesday of an old man rowing. He blurred out part of his body and added a question mark to the Instagram story.

Joey Swoll, who refers to himself as the ‘CEO of Gym Positivity’ and regularly calls out inappropriate behaviour at gyms to his 600,000 Twitter followers, said: “So you see that man at the gym working hard, trying to better himself with the trainer. He is in an embarrassing situation, where, yes, he is a little exposed.

“But you decide to take a video of them to post on social media – all for attention. Really? What the f*** is wrong with you? You’re a professional soccer player, you play for Chelsea in the Premier League, is this how you want to represent yourself and your team?”

Here what Twitter users said with Levi Colwill labelled as ‘disrespectful’ for his tweet posted after Chelsea’s defeat to Man Utd…

@dagi_nyaga: Players are no longer proud of their parent club

@BhaOllie: you’re the best person ever omg

@ibzsmo3k: He doesn’t even have 1000 premier league minutes to his name. Get rid of this guy now. He doesn’t deserve to play for Chelsea. Utter clown

@RealityChelsea: Hope this isn’t Chelsea related. I really do.

@ChessyHour: Everyone having a go…yea that’ll do it. That’ll make him have an affinity with the fans. Lool think about it. You clowns singing his praises during the season but were so quick to say he wasn’t good enough in pre-season last year. Leave Levi alone.

@vilechelsea7: How are people mad at this? He’s probably out with Brighton players on the piss good on him

@PursuitOfTruthB: Sign it Levi ✍️ you have to be a part of our euro journey. If so it’s mad disappointing. Terrible timing regardless. Think of your parent club and where you actually belong. You’ve a big future with us, don’t let it go like that.

@HTAFC_STATTO: Well you shouldn’t have signed an inconsistent, error prone, 31 year old centre back for £33 million on a 4 year deal. Force Colwill out because you couldn’t give him the playing time. Karma.

@KevmilnerBHAFC: God I love you

@afcjxmes: Wooooooow. This would be a massive loss for Chelsea, genuinely incredible player. I don’t blame him if he leaves either.

@NLisewsky: Great timing lad.

@mcfcIeo_: There hasn’t ever been a banter club to banter quite like Chelsea this season. It’ll go down in history

@BBrownCFCVT: It’s like that huh?

@UtdActive: No way 🤣

@CFCMamo: You can also piss off. Absolute disrespectful. I hope you will one season wonders. Piss off

@JF5Era: So entitled. Not the players i want at my club

@JohyanCruyff: Look I understand why you both feel this way but posting this ain’t it man….

@ChelseaHD6: I feel like people are overreacting, everyone is lashing out without context as to why he posted it.

@arjun_cfc: Are you taking the piss really ? Your mocking the club that actually made you the player that you’re today. You have started 12 games this year bro. You dont owe anything to Brighton. You owe everything to Chelsea.

@BhaAlex_: STAY LEVI MATE 💙

@cfc_domi: What have us Chelsea fans done to deserve this Levi? We have all backed you. Classy mate.

@thatguyaldred1_: You’re not better than the players we have now so pipe down you wouldn’t start for any top team anyways.

@bnxn001: Fvck off idi0t 🤡

@thatguyaldred1_: Bro if you want to stay at Brighton fine we don’t need you

@BolajiOyebode: He played for Brighton who had an amazing season, he is happy. You people call Felix “proper Chels”. Because he has shown passion for Chelsea even while on loan. You people are just angry and looking for who to pick on. Move on!!!

@NiceGuyKenny: You’ve watched what’s happened to Chelsea in the past 12 months and THIS is what you’re angry about? Grow up.
