Leeds fans slam Jamie O’Hara’s controversial claim after Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips leave

Leeds United fans have taken to slam Jamie O’Hara’s controversial claim after seeing Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips leave.

Jamie O’Hara is worried for them ahead of the upcoming season and issued a damning verdict which certainly caused a stir on social media.

The former Premier League midfielder turned talkSPORT presenter has warned Jesse Marsch that he may be facing the sack this season after the club’s decisions in the transfer market.

Marsch’s side have been active in the transfer window and have brought in the likes of Brenden Aaronson, Luis Sinisterra, Tyler Adams, Rasmus Kristensen, Marc Roca and Darko Gyabi for just under £100million.

But O’Hara believes that the two decisions to let their key men leave and not replace them with Premier League proven players may cost the American coach his job.

“I wanna talk Raphinha. He’s agreed to fee with Barcelona, Jase. So it’s a good move for him. Top football club, great move for him. He’s a very good player. Leeds now have lost Kalvin Phillips, Raphinha, they’re in big trouble. And I know Leeds fans are going to come on here and say, no, no, we’re all right. We’re signing him, we sign him… signing nobody’s. Right? They’re in big trouble.They’ve got star players. Their two best players have gone. I think Jesse Martin is going to get sacked.”

“I want to talk about Raphinha,” O’Hara told talkSPORT. “He has agreed a move to Barcelona, it’s a good move for him, a top football club, it is a great move for him. He is a very good player.

The Brazilian winger signed a deal to link up with Barcelona after the La Liga giants made a £55m bid for him, while Phillips was allowed to leave for Manchester City for a fee of £45m.

The two sales have helped Leeds to six summer signings so far, with three of their acquisitions coming from Red Bull clubs who have followed Marsch to Elland Road.

Leeds’ summer business is expected to continue with left-back Junior Firpo getting injured and won’t see the start of the season. Stoke City’s Josh Tymon and Bayern Munich’s Chris Richards have been linked as potential replacements according to the Express, while they are hoping to beat AC Milan to the signing of Charles de Ketelaere.

Marsch has also stated his intention bring in a striker this summer. He said: “We’re hopeful on several [striker] targets and we have our priorities and the conversations have been really good.

“So we definitely are going to find one more striker and I think that’ll be important. And then I believe that, with also the consideration at left-back, I feel like once we get a striker we feel like we’ll have a really sound, strong group.”

As mentioned, Leeds fans took to slam Jamie O’Hara’s controversial claim after Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips leave…

@peterjs0007: Who’s Jamie O’hara?

@utd_kyle18: They’ve brought in good replacements tbf

@jamie_cawthorne: Signing nobodies – the same Raphina who was a ‘nobody’ from france.

@Kershaw444: Well this is one to pin and save, I don’t even think Leeds will be in a relegation battle and also Raphinha was signed as a nobody

@hmwills96: @Mrjamieohara1 speaking utter nonsense again @talkSPORT he said the same last season when we were in a fight that we wouldn’t get another point and that we were down… really got an agenda against us for some reason, I like a lot of what Jamie says on @talkSPORT as well….

@Smarty_OKB: This bloke literally has no idea does he. How you can be paid to waffle that much shit is a complete mystery.

@hellsbelles92: Well if i remember rightly Raphina was a nobody when we signed him & now he plays for the Brazilian national team then he gets his dream move to Barcelona so i think Jaime O’hara had better think before he opens his again 🤦‍♀️

@ckeddle: Raphinha was a ‘nobody’ when he signed – melt!

@Alltheleedstalk: We’ve signed nobodies 😂 great knowledge of football.. clearly doesn’t look outside the prem… probably thinks Harry winks or jack cork are the answer. Let’s not forget Jaime O hara probably thought Raphinha was a nobody too .. just sold him for 60m mate 👍🏼

@ProudYorkie67: How does this 🔔end get on the radio. #LUFC

@jordanthomas95: Just because @Mrjamieohara1 doesn’t watch European football does not mean they’re nobodies. This is the same bloke who most probably didn’t have a clue who Raphinha was before Leeds signed him. A bloke who as usual has not got a clue what he’s talking about.

@max_gentleman:
Career councillor: “Where do you see yourself in 20 years?”
O’Hara: “Whoring out what’s left of my reputation and self-respect for cheap clicks and listens”

@AnotherLeedsFan: Is this the same Jamie O Hara who said we was as good as down when Bielsa left?? Love how these ex pros think, because they played the Game, it makes them knowledgeable about players they have no clue on.

@markydh: Which was the same Jamie O’Hara who spent the entire first season saying Bielsa was a fraud.

@TroyBoy1990: Nobodies? What did Jamie O’hara accomplish to call ANYONE a nobody? 😂🤡

@Komps4: Who was Raphinha before he joined Leeds? It’s an ignorant statement to say they are buying nobodies. Nobody players like Mahrez, Vardy and Kante won Leicester a premier league title.

@samjackson23: @Mrjamieohara1 didn’t know who Raphinha was 2 years ago. KP was a championship player 2 years ago. Stop showing yourself up on live radio Jamie.

@TommyJA3: They’re nobodies to you @Mrjamieohara1 because unless they play in England you’ve no idea! You didn’t have a clue who Cristian Romero was before he signed for Spurs let’s be honest…

@SohailRashid00: What makes me laugh is that overpaid under qualified radio pundits think good signings are only when they are big names. When you sign unknown players weirdly that’s not right. Do they even do the basics before opening their mouth and do some research #LUFC

@willisjamieson: “Nobodies.” Lazy work yet again from Jamie O’Hara. The amount of ex-players that make a living from talking about football only because they played at a decent level is infuriating. They may go down but I’d never heard of Raphinha before he played for Leeds United 🤷🏼‍♂️
