According to reports in South American, Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa has told the club who they should replace him when he does leave the club.
Marcelo Bielsa’s contract at the Championship side is until 2020 and doesn’t look likely to leave them as they look to get that all important promotion to the Premier League.
That man Bielsa has suggested is Juan Carlos Osorio, who a week ago resigned as Paraguay manager after just one game in charge.
Diario Expreso state: “Osorio has the possibility to continue in England. Marcelo Bielsa recommends him for when he finishes his contract at Leeds.”
The 57 year old is mostly known for his time at Mexico between 2015 and 2018, managing 52 games, winning 33, drawing 9 and losing 10.
He has also won 8 trophies at club level, one at New York Red Bulls, one at Once Caldes and six at Atletico Nacional.
After leaving Paraguay, Osorio said: “For my own family reasons, unfortunately I can’t continue in the job.
“I’d like to thank you all for your support.
“It brought me pride to manage, lead and train the national team.”
Osorio also recently met Bielsa and at a press conference, he backed him to take them up: “He’s a top man. I think he’s a top manager and he would do well.
“In my visit three weeks ago, I spoke to him and he mentioned it to me, and I’m very pleased.
“I think that [the] league, the Premier League and the English league, will be his ultimate goal and hopefully he’ll get there. I think he will do very well.”
Would you be happy with that Leeds fans?
