Latest ticket sales for EFL Trophy final revealed and it’s looking set to be a hugely attended one with tickets still on sale for just under a month.
Portsmouth and Salford City go head to head on the 5th of April, and as expected it’s the fanbase on the south coast that are outselling their opponents.
According to the League One side’s website, the club were given an initial allocation of 50,300 tickets, which they managed to sell out, and were given an extra amount on Friday.
Pompey sold around 42,000 seats for last season’s Checkatrade Trophy final against Sunderland, which they claimed on penalties following a 2-2 draw after extra-time.
As of Saturday evening, League Two newcomers Salford City had sold just over 1,500 tickets of the 3,000 that were allocated to them, which is 47,300 less than Portsmouth and just 3.3% of the 90,000 capacity in the national stadium.
Around 3,000 Ammies fans snapped up tickets when their side made an appearance at Wembley for the National League playoff final last season.
Fans gave their reaction to Latest ticket sales for EFL Trophy final next month…
That’s genuinely a phenomenal effort. We’ve been 7 times in just over 10 years, so you can’t even say fans are going for the novelty of it. It’s just pure, brilliant support for the club. It’s not like it’s a cheap day out either! Amazing!

An out of town stadium, which would probably look like any other stadium built in the last 20 years. Sounds horrible. No atmosphere
