With the 2018/19 season quickly and rather sadly coming to a close, the English Football League have announced the dates for the 2019/20 season.
Fixture release date for all EFL divisions is Thursday the 20th of June at 9am, a day earlier than for the current season, a time when teams can get planning.

The much anticipated opening weekend will start Saturday the 3rd of August for majority of clubs, though a televised match on the Friday is likely go ahead like past years.
Carabao Cup First Round matches are set to take place the week commencing the 12th of August, two weeks after the first lot of league games.
Staying on the theme of the same tournament, the final of it will be played on Sunday the 1st of March 2020, a little later than the 2019 final.
Another competition now and it’s the EFL Trophy, which will start the week commencing 2nd of September with the final played on the 5th of April, again later than the one for the 2018/19 season.
We turn to the playoffs and this is where we see a change. Instead of it being played over one weekend, it will instead be two.
The League Two final is on Saturday the 16th of May. But due to Wembley hosting Euro 2020 fixtures (including the semis and final, 7th, 8th & 12th of July), the League One and Championship playoff finals will go ahead on Sunday 24 May and Monday 25 May.
