Jurgen Klopp goes viral with his reaction to being mocked by cheeky chant by Man Utd fans

Jurgen Klopp goes viral with his reaction to being mocked with cheeky chant by Man Utd fans in his final visit at Old Trafford.

Liverpool were unable to secure a victory against United on Sunday, but instead came away with a 2-2 draw thanks to Mohamed Salah coming through with a late equaliser from the penalty spot.

This was Klopp’s last appearance as the manager of Liverpool at Old Trafford, and the United faithful were eager to bid him a memorable farewell.

As he made his way down the tunnel, a video sees fans chant: “He’s cracking up, he’s cracking up, Jurgen’s cracking up.”

Klopp tried to ignore the chants coming his way, then he decided to cup his ear with his hand, shrugging off their reaction and had a big a grin on his face leading to some Man Utd fans cheered and others were not so welcoming.

Man Utd dented Liverpool’s Premier League title hopes in a thrilling 2-2 draw at Old Trafford with Bruno Fernandes and Kobbie Mainoo scoring stunners for Erik ten Hag’s side while Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah were on target for the visitors.

Player of the match: Kobbie Mainoo

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has been speaking to Sky Sports after the draw: “We should have won the game, that is clear. We should have had other goals in the first half already. No shots in the first half and 1-0 is the lowest we could expect.

“Really well done from Bruno [Fernandes]. Then the stadium [atmosphere] is coming, we needed a few minutes to settle again, and they scored another screamer. We had big chances before and after they scored.

“As far as I’m concerned, we have one point more than we did before. They put an extra shift in, that is how it is. We will face that again against Everton. A fully deserved equaliser.

“I think the Dom Szoboszlai chance was an incredible save from [Andre] Onana. The other ones, we were in a bit of a rush. I would have loved us to take an extra touch. We have to be calm in the whole journey. The goals we scored brought us to where we are right now.

“We have Europa League on Thursday and then it’s Crystal Palace. Games are coming thick and fast, that is good for us. I’m not over the moon, but it’s OK.

“I’m not angry at all with the boys but, in the game, I’m not just going to let things happen. We dropped too deep. There were plenty of situations where we could have defended the ball. You need to be proactive.

“We play now at home against Atalanta – a difficult game, but at home, and then another. We don’t have many home games left. The team who wins the league, in the end, should deserve it.

“We are in the race and I am absolutely fine with it.”

Liverpool skipper Virgil van Dijk has been speaking to BBC Match of the Day about the result: “It feels like a loss. It is our fault again.

“We had so many chances and we should finish the game off.”Unfortunately, the individual mistake that happened with the equaliser, we had so much time to put it right but we were in a rush.

“Still, after being 2-1 down, we created so much.”

On the missed chances in the first half: “We should have been 2-0 up at least. But, in football, unfortunately if these things don’t happen, you give them the feeling that they could come back, and it happened.”

On Jarell Quansah being affected by his mistake: “He shouldn’t [be]. Mistakes happen in football. Everyone who has a career in football makes mistakes. You can only learn from it.”

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has been speaking to BBC Match of the Day following the draw: “Very mixed emotions. On one side, I am disappointed that we have dropped seven points in one week, after being in winning positions, but we have to blame ourselves for making stupid mistakes.

“On the other side, I am very proud. You see how we are improving and the potential of this squad is amazing. I am proud.

“In decisive areas, we were losing battles, especially with young players, we were not confident to win them [duels].

“We encouraged [them] in the second half to do better and they stepped up.”

On having the belief to win duels: “It is two things. One thing is physical, after Thursday [which was] a big intense game and then to return from London dealing with the frustration. On the other side, it is the belief that you can win such duels.”

On their current league position: “I don’t know, We will keep fighting. We have to do the same and learn from the moments.

“Brentford was our worst performance. We didn’t deserve to win there.

On 19-year-old Willy Kambwala: “He has been training a while with us and progressing well.

“The next generation need to step in and he is doing brilliant. The challenge for him is doing it consistently.

“Great opportunity for him. We have other options, like bringing Casemiro in at centre-half, but today he deserved it and he showed it on the pitch.”

Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo has been speaking to BBC Match of the Day following the late draw: “It left us disappointed. We worked hard to get into the game, after a tough first half.

“We have given it away. Ultimately, we wanted the three points and it is a big game for us coming to the end of the season. To not come away with three points is tough to take.

“Again penalties have cost us, but we have to keep on working ironing out these details that keep costing us and keep trying to get better.”

On scoring his goal: “When Aaron Wan-Bissaka gave me the ball, I thought the goalkeeper wouldn’t think I would shoot, so I laid it off and it felt good. Luckily it went in.”

On Luis Diaz’s goal: “With that one, I was supposed to be double-teaming Virgil van Dijk with Rasmus Hojlund, and leaving Luis Diaz. We should clear it, it was a miscommunication, and details have cost us.”

On Erik ten Hag’s half-time team-talk: “He said to get ourselves back into the game. There was some positives but we were behind in this type of fixture and it is going to be tough to take.

“You always have to find something against these teams – it was such a big game.”

On what it will take to achieve Champions League qualification: “I mean there is a lot of important games coming up for us. We have to try our hardest and come together as a group.”

As mentioned, Jurgen Klopp goes viral with his reaction to being mocked with a cheeky chant by Man Utd fans…
