Jurgen Klopp fumes as a pitch invader stops Liverpool’s attempt at getting a very late winner against Crystal Palace on Monday.
A pitch invading fan left Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp raging after halting the game in the closing minutes of his side’s draw.
With the scores level at 1-1 and 30 seconds left on the clock, the Reds were chasing a winner at Anfield having already played four minutes of stoppage time.
And as the hosts put together an attack to try and snatch all three points, a fan ran onto the Anfield turf – much to the dismay of Klopp, as can be seen below…
“There’s an idiot on the pitch,” talkSPORT’s co-commentator for the match Sam Matterface said.
“The referee now has to stop the game and that idiot is now being barracked by Jurgen Klopp.
“He is being shouted at and screamed at by the German manager, because he has just cost his team the chance of fashioning an attack in the last few seconds of a Premier League game that they are not going to win now.”
Before play was restarted, boos rang around Anfield as the supporter was taken off the pitch by stewards, Liverpool however couldn’t double their goal tally, meaning Palace talisman Wilfred Zaha’s opening strike was enough to let his side share the spoils.
Monday night’s full time score marks Liverpool’s second draw in as many games since the start of the new Premier League campaign, their worst start to a season in ten years.
However, they have the chance to get a first win of the season when they play struggling Manchester United on Monday.

POST MATCH INTERVIEWS
Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira:
“There are a lot of teams coming to Liverpool that would be happy with a point, but today we played a really good game collectively and I’m pleased with the point.
“Overall we kept our organisation and discipline. It’s a really tough place to come and perform. We created some really good chances, in a difficult period we stuck together and defended well. It was a really good team performance, I’m really happy with the team.”
On the Nunez red card:
“When the game is like that there’s a lot of frustration when things don’t go your way but at the end what was really important for us was to keep our organisation and composure and not allow them any kind of space. Our back five defended really well today.”
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp on Nunez red card:
“I’ve seen it back, that’s of course a red card. He was provoked all the time but that’s not how he should behave.
“I will talk to him, it makes no sense when I talk too much about it in public. It’s not the reaction you want to see. The centre-halves in the Premier League will do that to him, he’s a handful himself.”
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp on injury crisis:
“The real feeling I have at the moment is I’m proud because everything went against us during the week. It was crazy, it was like there was a witch in the building. Putting in a performance in the circumstances, I’m really proud of that.
“It’s not the start we wanted but that’s the least of my problems because it’s really tricky at the moment with injuries. We have to use the next week to maybe bring one or two back. We lost Darwin today which doesn’t help but Bobby (Firmino) might be ready for next week. It’s not a concern, it’s just a start.”
