Ben Strevens said via LinkedIn: “You are sacked!!!!
“Every manager or coach in professional sport knows the inevitable is going to happen one day…
“It comes with the job!
“I can only describe what happened to me in my last job, I was sacked by the sporting director in my office 30 minutes after the final whistle on Boxing Day!
“My Family were all still at the club.
“All I wanted was to get them out of the club before they heard the news from someone else…
“Sadly that didn’t happen, every day I think about how sad they were when I saw them.
“Now whenever I think about an opportunity that may or may not arise all I can think is it worth it?
“Is it worth the feelings you feel individually if or when it goes wrong and also how it affects others who are closest to you.
Do you still have these feelings whatever role you are in or whatever industry you are in if you lose your job?
“I think i am trying to accept that these feelings are fine and completely natural whatever industry you work in, it’s just part of our journey and the ones closet to us are our WHY?
“Why we do it all in the first place..
“Why we try to be better…
“Why we try to show it’s ok to fail as long as you don’t give up!
“Why they smile the biggest when you succeed 😁
“Why it is worth it ❤️”
Prior to that, he wrote: “Been a tough month since losing my job at Dagenham & Redbridge Football Club.
“In life you just have to move on.
“Loads of great memories made, loads of people to be grateful for in my time spent at the club, some things I wish I could do over.
“We live and learn..
“Loyalty and the way you treat people is top of my core values.
“So after after feeling embarrassed, a failure and all the other lovely thoughts you have when you get sacked!

Junior Morias, who scored a brace in Woking’s 2-1 win against his former club Dagenham, said: “Yo. Listen. I’ve got, I must say this. I got so much love and respect for the Dagenham fans.
“Like, it may not look it, but it was nothing at them, you know, and I want them to know that, you know, and, that I’ve just got loads of respect and love for the Dagenham fans, you know, and that’s why I came back, at the start of the season.
“But, look, life goes on, and, that celebration, as I said, it wasn’t at them, but there are some things where that celebration was warranted, you know, but I just leave it to the father in heaven, and he delivers.”
