Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Joe Hart apologises and deletes his embarrassing Instagram post after his side’s Europa League exit.
Spurs were shockingly knocked out from the European tournament in dramatic fashion on Thursday evening having been leading in the first leg.
After winning their opening last-16 match against Dinamo Zagreb 2-0, Jose’s side were in pole position to progress to the quarter-finals.
But the Premier League outfit were shocked in Croatia as they were beaten 3-0 to crash out the competition.
Mislav Orsic’s second half brace took the game into extra-time and then claimed his hat-trick in the 106th minute, a goal which would prove to be the match-winner.
It really was another embarrassing evening for Tottenham especially after they were expected to easily make it through to the quarter-finals but they collapsed in astonishing fashion.
Joe Hart was watching on from the bench in Croatia, but yet despite his side’s exit from the competition, a bizarre Instagram message was posted on his social media account after the game.
The post featured an image of the scoreline, followed by the caption: ‘Job done.’
The post was taken down within minutes after the realisation, though damage had already been done with many football fans taking screenshots and making him the talk of social media for 24 hours.
Hart has now apologised for the post.
Jose Mourinho was absolutely fuming with his players in his post-match interview which can be seem below.
“In the 90 minutes and in the first half of extra-time, there was one team that decided to leave everything on the pitch,” he stated.
“They left everything there – they left sweat, energy, blood and at the end of the game, they had even tears of happiness. Very humble, very committed and I have to praise them.
“On the other side, my team didn’t look they were playing an important match. But for me, it is for the respect I have for my own career and my own job.
“Every match is an important match for me and I believe that for every Tottenham fan at home, every match matters and another attitude is needed.
“To say that I feel sad is not enough because what I feel goes much further than sadness.”

Jamie O’Hara told Sky Sports News: “Tactically, I think they were all over the place. What was the plan going into the game? It was a basketball match. Too many players were not leaders on the pitch. Giving the ball away on the pitch. You cannot give the ball away in Europe because you don’t get it back.
“It was a fantastic performance by Dinamo but Spurs gave them the lift, gave them the belief. That is one of the worst performances from Tottenham that I have seen in a long time.”
Clinton Morrison told Sky Sports News: “Players like Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son want to play in the Champions League. Spurs are not going to be in the Champions League next season now. It is a huge body blow for Tottenham and the Tottenham fans.”
Fans reacted as Joe Hart apologises and deletes his embarrassing Instagram post…
@DaleyAFC: Well my second day running Joe Hart’s social media seems to be going well. Better just check in with the boss and see how he is.
@ArsenalANewDawn: He looks like he’s 53. What happened
@HarryWoodland: He moved to Tottenham
@WhiteHartDane: So glad he’s part of my team. Professionalism at its finest
@seeveepee: Joe Hart so busy he needs social media team
@sydneyspurs: Poor bloke. Completely understand that this would be a shock to wake up to such horror. He’s now fully spurs like the rest of us
@JA_Onion_Bhajis: Why is Joe Hart apologising as if he’s just posted a picture of his nob or something?
@TheSpursExpress: Fair play on Joe Hart to come out and apologise but that ‘typo’ really sums up the state we are in right now.
@northbanklower: Joe Hart’s Instagram apology saying his social media team thought they had won 3-0 last night is up there with Joleon Lescott’s pocket tweet. Sensational!
@ndyGerlis: Joe Hart has made more errors leading to an apology than any other goalkeeper with 5+ apps this season (1).
@mattbutler503: Two big takeaways from this. 1. Joe Hart has a social media ‘team’. 2. That ‘team’ don’t seem to know how football scores work.
@ryangoIdy: Was obvious it wasn’t him, but respect to him for coming out and apologising anyway. Not his fault, doesn’t deserve any stick, especially now
@spurslogic_: The only player that has apologised is Joe Hart and that was for a social media cock up.
@liam_lightowler: Joe Hart has had a stinker hasn’t he 🤧
@mr_wright_54321: That is pure dedication from Joe Hart!! As he says just woke up still rubbing sleep out his eyes and feels the need to post a video as soon as his eyes opened
@3catSmith: “It didn’t come from any other place other than a typo” 😂
@FtblMason: “Have a good day”? I really can’t mate
@BerryMuses: Fair play to Joe here, but I am wondering where the apologies are from the other players for that performance. Very quiet as far as i can see. I hear lots of reports about them wanting first team games but well… the proof is there for them to see they aren’t good enough.
@NeilB__: Joe Hart: “Alright guys, just leaving for Croatia now. At full time, can you just stick a “job done” Insta out for me” – Social Media team: “No problem Joe, will do” – JH: “Don’t bother checking the result… not even Spurs could f*** this up from here” – SM: “OK Joe”
@jonhotspur88: I thought that Joe Hart thing was photoshopped. Just seen us put a video up to explain it.
@ryan_murton: It’s underrated what’s happened here. It’s absolutely freaking hilarious!
