Jamie O’Hara astonishes fans with Premier League relegation prediction

Jamie O’Hara astonishes fans with his latest Premier League relegation prediction which was made live on radio station talkSPORT.

The former midfielder reckons that West Ham could be forced to battle with the drop zone this season if they fail to make any further signings.

David Moyes’ side have qualified for the Europa League after finishing an impressive sixth place last term and are expected to to keep hold of some of their star players, such as Declan Rice and Thomas Soucek.

The Hammers have also brought in 28 year old French international goalkeeper Alphonse Areola to their ranks, after enduring a loan spell at Fulham for 2020/21, joining from French outfit Paris Saint-Germain on an initial season-long loan deal.

However despite the positive news, O’Hara believes West Ham could be in for a tough campaign unless they make some last-minute additions.

‘I’m worried about them, the reason being they’ve signed a goalkeeper. Jesse Lingard wasn’t interested in coming back, there were questions over whether they could get Tammy Abraham which would’ve been a great signing,’ O’Hara told talkSPORT.

‘It’s all looking brilliant (for them), then bang, the season is starting, and they have one striker in Antonio who’s a year older now.

‘He struggles with injuries; He will get injured in the season we know this. So, they haven’t got a forward. I’m going to put it out there, I think they’re going to struggle, I think they’re going to be fighting relegation.

‘If they don’t get some players in quickly and strengthen that squad, West Ham are going to be fighting relegation. They’ve got the Europa League as well, they haven’t got a squad, it’s not big enough.’

O’Hara believes that West Ham should be looking to sign Arsenal midfielder Joe Willock to fill the void left by Lingard.

Willock has been reportedly close of joining Newcastle on a permanent deal following a successful loan spell at St James’ Park in the second half of last season. Though they are a distance apart when it comes to agreeing personal terms.

It would seem that West Ham are living rent free in Jamie O’Hara’s head, earlier this year, he posted a bitter tweet after West Ham’s 2-1 win over Tottenham.

It read: “To be honest I thought spurs were the better team had most of the possession and bale coming on had a big impact, just aren’t getting the luck go our way right now, fair play to West Ham great signing in lingard and organised and give everything, won’t finish in top 4 though.”

Back in September, he predicted that the Hammers would get RELEGATED for the 2020/21 campaign, instead they finished 6th.

He said back then: “I think West Have will go down,” he said on the talkSPORT Breakfast, to the surprise of Alan Brazil and Ally McCoist.

“I do, I think West Ham are going down this season.

“I mean, their upcoming fixtures are horrendous and I wasn’t very optimistic after Sullivan’s chat on talkSPORT yesterday.

“It wasn’t the best; it wasn’t great reading and it didn’t fill you with confidence.

“If you were a West Ham fan, you wouldn’t be waking up this morning thinking ‘yeah, get in there, we’re going for it!’”

As mentioned, Jamie O’Hara astonishes fans with Premier League relegation prediction, though it’s not to say some didn’t agree, see what they said about it below…

@_WestHamReport: I’ve gained 7 followers just by calling Jamie O’Hara a cunt. I love twitter.

@cockneyman81: It’s true because he is a massive one

@ForeverAYellow: What a laughable brainless prediction, said the same last season and look what happened. West Ham are definitely not going to be fighting a relegation battle

@Lloydo10: I think he’s spot on. We’re only a couple of likely injuries away from a relegation battle

@AdamEpsly: The same jamie ohara that said declan was bang average?

@usawhu2: few key injuries and were fucked

@Jack_Hobson96: Same was said last year and we weren’t after Antonio ogbonna and Rice all got injured. I agree we need 2-3 signings but people are doing the current group of players a disservice

@_WestHamReport: Jamie O’Hara is a cunt. 💭

@jxmeswhu2: He’s just being a bellend but tbh he might not be far off if we don’t sign anyone. We’re not gonna cope with the amount of football with our current squad

@Fantasy_SportsJ: Well he’s not far off. Will definitely be closer to relegation than Europe unless we strengthen squad. Look at the history of clubs in the UEFA Cup/Europa League. The Thursday-Sundays and long journeys really takes it toll on teams with small squad’s.

@HossackMatt: He can shut he’s gob! Bloody spurs fan from Kent! What’s he know

@jmosborne89: Typical spurs fan lol

@charliemales_: I don’t know why he hates us so much

@Deal770M: And he knows absolutely nothing whatsoever about football or anything that requires an ounce of common sense as proven regularly on @talkSPORT

@deurenbeuker: I think O’Hara has the worst football knowledge of any pundit out there. Man said Varane lacks pace, I can’t take anything he says seriously anymore 😭

@thatboied: Tbf, I think he has struggled to be relevant in football his whole career.

@WHUNathan: I don’t think we will fight relegation but we will struggle.

@Coady86: Didn’t he say that last year aswell 😂

@hammerlad: Top 8 easy…… Mark Noble lifting the Europa League Trophy as well. We are fkn massive.

@Andysilve1: Has this plank ever been right in his life 😳

@Jack_Hobson96: Not for me. Think we’re in the 7th-11th bracket with Arsenal villa Everton and leeds

@IanCulleyMorga2: Not sure about relegation. Probably will make signings before window closes. Surely they will. Mid table probably. I’d take that now

@bydarrenstyles: The Europa League is much smaller this year, we are weeks away from deadline day. So absurdly premature. Does he do horoscopes too?

@Tylerrjones16: Tell me you don’t have a clue about football without telling me you don’t have a clue about football

@IronsCB: Totally disagree, starting 11’s no different than last year. Just need some depth

@1bbyWHU: He’s not biased at all 👍🏼

@Jordanbrown820: We got a strong side either way we wont be fighting relegation at all

@TheWestHamWay1: I think this bloke is a proper bellend, but he probably isn’t wrong with this.

@IronMan7WHU: Always has an agenda against West Ham, O’Hara’s a bellend!!

@Denner7s: Rewind 12 months. He said the same.

@WHU99: PisS off Jamie, we know u hate West Ham! 🖕🏼🖕🏼

@richardduffin1: O’hara nothing but an idiot and full of s^*t

@james_salvage: The first sensible thing he’s said. Rice and or Soucek get injured for a decent amount of time, we are well and truly in the mud

@ham_maybe: He’s such a cock
