Jake Young has his name in headlines as he nets 4 goals as Swindon thrash Crawley to make it 7 goals and 3 assists in 4 league games.
The 22 year old is currently on loan at the Robins from fellow League Two side Bradford City – of whom have four goals in five games.
Dan Kemp and Tyrese Shade also scored for Swindon against a Crawley side managed by former Swindon boss Scott Lindsey.
Following his stunning person on Saturday, Jake Young has contributed to 78.57% of all of Towns goals so far this season.
He has the highest amount of G/A in the top four leagues in England, and he is joint first in all the top leagues in the world, the other player having six more games then him.
He is also the first player to be directly involved in five goals (four goals, one assist) in a league game in England since October 2021.
Before this season, Young had only 16 goals to his name from 91 games. So his start to life at Swindon is really quite something…

When asked what he believed was the secret to his success so far, Young joked that his flatmate’s questionable cooking may have had something to do with it.
Young said, as per Swindon Advertiser: “It’s a mixture of stuff. Obviously, getting that confidence from the manager and him telling me what he wants from me.
“Playing with people like Kempy [Dan Kemp] and Charlie [Austin] – we just get each other on the pitch.
“The atmosphere we’ve got here is brilliant, so it’s just a combination of everything.
“I couldn’t tell you exactly what the key is – whether it’s Kempy’s chicken and pasta, I don’t know!”
Young continued: “Kempy cooked a really nice dry chicken pasta [on Friday night] and [on Saturday morning], so if that’s what happens then he can keep cooking!
“We’re forging a really good relationship so far. For anyone that doesn’t know, we’re living together, so that helps us get to know each other off the pitch. And it just works on the pitch. I feel like I’ve been playing with him for years.
“Hopefully, we can keep setting each other up and contributing to the team. I’m enjoying not just playing with him, but with all of the other lads too.”
Young adds: “Once you get that first one or two goals, it just feels like I can’t miss at the minute.
“I woke up [on Saturday morning] and spoke to Kempy – I said: “I know I’m going to score today” – that’s just how it feels at the moment.
“You go through spells where you can’t hit a barn door – I’m sure I’ll have more moments like that – because you can’t always be at the peaks, but you’ve got to enjoy it when you are scoring four goals and winning 6-0.
“I’ll keep enjoying it and try to make this run go on as long as I possibly can.”
Swindon boss Michael Flynn said, as per Swindon Advertiser: “I thought we were fantastic, but we could have scored more.
“We started sloppy and they should have gone a goal up, if I am brutally honest. But we played as a team.
“Dan Kemp could have had a hat-trick, if Tyrese [Shade] squares it to Rush [Hepburn-Murphy] he has a tap-in. We could have had a lot more.
“But the most pleasing thing for me was the way we shut the game out, kept a clean sheet, and kept going until the end.”
When questioned if he expected to see this level of potential quite so soon, Flynn said: “Yes. I wouldn’t have brought him in otherwise!
“He’s a good player. He’s a confidence player – as do most strikers – but he’s settled in really well so far with the lads.
“But, for me, it’s three points. Yes, it’s always nice to win. I would have taken 1-0 to me. But it’s on to next week now.”
