A well publicised incident this week leads to a shocking SEVEN National League players receiving abusive messages on social media.
After we reported on Wednesday morning, Wealdstone have since confirmed that seven of their players have been sent racist slurs.
The incidents come after the club began an investigation into allegations surrounding striker Ryan Gondoh, who ended up pouring water over a homeless women’s head in London.

The 23-year-old did this following an accusation that he was racially abused by the female, and now club says staff members have also been sent the same type of abuse since reports on Gondoh came to light.
“We have a zero-tolerance policy toward racism and as a club will not stand for any form of abuse directed at our members of staff,” a statement from the club said.
“We are sickened by these messages and have forwarded them onto the police to investigate.”
“There is absolutely no place in society for racism, discrimination or any form of violence,” Wealdstone said in a statement on social media on Wednesday.
“The club will be discussing this incident with Ryan in due course and will be making no further comment at this time.”

Footage, as seen above, filmed by the player was posted on social media earlier this week and has since gone viral, with more than 200,000 views.
The league organisation have tweeted out: “The National League fully supports @WealdstoneFC and the club’s staff upon hearing of this news. There is no room for racism and discriminatory behaviour.”
Gondoh has since released a statement giving his version of events, saying:
IT SADDENS ME TO WRITE THIS, AS I HAVE RELIEVED MANY RACIAL COMMENTS AND THREATS REGARDING THE ONLINE VIDEO I POSTED ON MY SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNT. I WOULD LIKE TO ADDRESS THE INCIDENT THAT TOOK PLACE WITHOUT ANY MEDIA INFLUENCE.
ON MONDAY 24 MAY 2021 WHILST AT WORK, I WAS APPROACHED BY A HOMELESS WOMAN OUTSIDE QUEENSWAY STATION. THE WOMAN INITIATED A CONVERSATION BY ASKING ME FOR MONEY AND I KINDLY APOLOGISED AS I DIDN’T HAVE ANY CHANGE ON ME. TO MY SURPRISE, SHE REPLIED BY RACIALLY INSULTING ME BY SAYING “YOU GREEDY N*****”, I WAS IN SO MUCH SHOCK THAT I TURNED ON MY CAMERA TO RECORD THE ABUSE. SHE THEN TRIED TO SAY SHE ONLY CALLED ME GREEDY, HOWEVER WHEN I ADDRESSED THIS SHE REPEATED THIS RACIAL ABUSE CALLING ME “NIG NOG” AND CITING A DISGUSTING RHYME, “N****R N****R PULL THE TRIGGER”. THIS RESULTED IN FEELING SO ANGRY AND UPSET TO BE ABUSED IN THIS WAY, ESPECIALLY AS IT WAS AN UNPROVOKED ATTACK. IN THE HEAT OF THE MOMENT, I REACTED BY KICKING AWAY HER CUP AND SQUIRTING WATER AT HER, WHICH WAS ALL OVER IN A MATTER OF MINUTES.
ON THIS POINT, I WOULD LIKE TO ADDRESS THE FACT THAT I DON’T CONDONE MY ACTIONS, IT WAS AN INVOLUNTARY EXPRESSION OF MY ANGER AFTER I WAS REPEATEDLY INSULTED FOR BEING BLACK.
SINCE, THE VIDEO HAS GONE VIRAL, ALL OF MY SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNTS HAVE BEEN FLOODED WITH DISTURBING AND DISGUSTING RACIAL ABUSE. I HAVE RECEIVED NUMEROUS DEATH THREATS, IMAGES OF BLACK MEN BEING HUNG, NOT TO MENTION A PLETHORA OF VILE AND THREATENING MESSAGES, WHICH HAS HAD A NEGATIVE EFFECT ON MY WELLBEING. MY RELATIONSHIPS AT WORK HAVE SUFFERED AND WHILST MY FAMILY SUPPORT ME, THEY ARE ALSO SUFFERING DUE TO A BARRAGE OF UNWARRANTED RACIAL ABUSE. I DID NOT GIVE MY CONSENT TO ALLOW ANY MEDIA PLATFORMS PERMISSION TO USE ANY IMAGES, VIDEOS OR WRITE THE ARTICLES ON THIS MATTER. THEY HAVE MADE ME OUT TO BE MALICIOUS WHICH I AM NOT. I WILL CONTINUE TO USE MY PLATFORM TO STAND STRONG AGAINST RACISM AND ANY FORM OF OPPRESSION.
UPON REFLECTION, I QUESTION WHAT IS THE RIGHT WAY TO REACT TO BLATANT RACIAL ABUSE NOWADAYS? MARCHING, SOCIAL MEDIA BLACKOUTS, TAKING THE KNEE? SHOULD I HAVE REACTED BETTER AFTER BEING RACIALLY ABUSED? I THINK SO. HOWEVER, USING THEN WORD IS ABUSE. IT HAS A DEVASTATING IMPACT ON SOCIETY AND SHOULD NEVER BE USED DUE TO THE DISGUSTING HISTORY IT REPRESENTS. I STOOD UP FOR WHAT I BELEIEVD WAS WRONG.
BEING A MIXED-RACE PERSON, WE ARE AT RISK OF RELIEVING RACISM ON A DAILY BASIS. WE ENCOUNTER SYSTEMIC RACISM, INTER-GENERATIONAL RACISM, RACIAL BIAS, SUB CONSCIOUS AND CONSCIOUS BIAS, MANY OF US JUDGED ON OUR IDENTITY, STEREOTYPES AND ASSUMPTIONS BASED SOLEY ON THE COLOUR OF OUR SKIN.
JUST THIS WEEK RIO FERDINAND AND A SECURITY GUARD IN BIRMINGHAM WERE RACIALLY ASSAULTED WHILST AT WORK WHICH HIGHLIGHTS AN ONGOING PROBLEM THAT RUNS DEEP WITHIN THIS COUNTRY.
WE ALL HAVE A RESPONSIBILITY TO UNDERSTAND AND EDUCATE OURSELVES ON THE CHOICE OF WORDS WE USE. ITS HARD TO TELL SOMEONE HOW TO REACT WHEN YOU HAVE NEVER WALKED IN THEIR SHOES.
I STAND STRONG AS A PROUD AND SUCCESSFUL BLACK MAN! THIS IS MY SIDE OF THE STORY. RYAN GONDOH

Fans reacted after seeing that the incident leads to SEVEN National League players receiving shocking abusive messages…
@leftyslifestyle: Insane.
@Gandermonium: This is absolutely fucking disgusting.
@brandonJLchambs: Shocking. When will it stop.
@Shakyshakes1980: Awful this. What goes through people’s heads to make them think racist abuse is acceptable?
@BandwagonZine: What Ryan did was daft but symptomatic of the extreme provocation and deep hurt that racial abuse causes. None of you deserve this. Solidarity from the West Midlands; it is beyond belief that a non-league club is being targeted by the far right in this manner.
@crazylegs_11: What the hell is wrong with people?!
@Mike_Ellsmore: One thing I’ve noticed from this, all the abuse he’s getting is coming from anonymous troll accounts and/or right wing Americans. How the fuck did they even find this
@PindsPinds: Wealdstone FC. With your manager & you guys. You’ve gained a fan. Top club, top morals. I’m buying a shirt next season.
@joe_oliver20: We are with you Ryan 🙏🏼 I’m just sorry anyone in todays society should have faced what you have over the last day. Love always bro ❤️ #ImWithGondoh
@Jedlocks: @RyanGondoh I’m so sorry you have to go through this, some people will never understand how deep racism is and how it affects people of colour, don’t let them get to you, keep strong 👊🏿 #ImWithGondoh
@ambersalamander: Totally understand why you reacted as you did. Those criticising you don’t (or don’t want to) understand what it’s like on the receiving end of racism or how damaging such words can be. You were right to stand up for yourself. Maybe better ways to do that, but I can’t judge.
@ForeverAYellow: Notice how it is all the trolls with no face in their profile pictures trying to slam what the player did here??
@WestNorwoodFC: You have so much support over this episode. Not just the football community, but also every right-minded corner of society. Keep your chin up, there are thousands, if not millions shoulder-to-shoulder with you on this.
@JohnJones33: That’s not true though is it. First you kicked over her begging cup. Then you returned later to douse her with liquid. So it wasn’t in the heat of the moment. You had time for detached reflection after kicking her begging bowl & decide she needed more punishment so went back
@jmullz10: Very well said @RyanGondoh – the way people brush off racism so easily shows how big the problem is. His reaction deemed to be far more serious than the initial crime. Now being further racially abused. We’ve got a long long way to go…
@jmmw187: So many white people explaining how a black man should deal with racism…
@Phi11ipsMichael: Easy to say when you ain’t in the situation. I’m sure people would have done a lot worse. I think she’s lucky with water on her face, regardless if she’s homeless or not. I’ve met nice/genuine homeless people. No one deserves to feel less about their skin colour.

I had to double check this ya know. We have a lady openly on camera spouting hate speech and the “professional footballer” is the villain? Let me know when she gets locked up, I’ll wait 👍🏻 #imwithgondoh pic.twitter.com/1jNInmyYvz

I still don’t understand how homeless people can find the time to be racist or homophobic 💀

This is what is going on! What was the pointless social media blackouts for? We all knew it wouldn’t make a difference. @Twitter you guys really need to sort this out. It’s UNACCEPTABLE! #ImWithGondoh pic.twitter.com/nr3GmvaeaQ
