Hull City come back from 3-0 down to beat Galatasaray 4-3 with three late goals scored in three minutes on Wednesday night.
The Tigers had a pre-season friendly to remember as they managed to shock Turkish champions Galatasaray having conceded three goals by the 35th minute at the Kocaeli Stadium.
However, the EFL outfit managed to get one back through Benjamin Tetteh just before the break, but little did fans inside the stadium predict how the second half would go on to play out.
“I was most pleased with the spirit and effort shown by the players. If you show that every time you step foot on the pitch, you can have a really good season.”

It remained 3-1 until the 83rd minute when quick-fire goals from Cyrus Christie, Regan Slater and Óscar Estupiñán completed a surprise turnaround.
Liam Rosenior played a different team in each half for their first friendly of the summer, giving loanee Liam Delap his first outing since signing.
Hull knew they’d be in for a tough test against a Galatasaray side who won a record 23rd Süper Lig title by an eight-point margin in 2022/23.
The first goal of the game came in the 28th minute when Emin Bayram glanced an accurate header into the far corner from Mertens’ curling cross to give Gala the lead.
They then scored a second shortly after with Kutlu getting on the end of Greg Docherty’s misplaced pass, picking his spot and sent the ball into the bottom corner.
Two became three five minutes later as Leo Dubois stood up a pinpoint cross from the byline for Kaan Ayhan to stoop and nodded into the far corner.
City reduced the arrears in first-half injury time, Allahyar Sayyadmanesh breaking free down the right and squared the ball for Tetteh to hit home from a few yards.
Hull have grabbed their second goal of the night with Cyrus Christie joining Tetteh on the scoresheet.
Barely two minutes later, the Tigers found themselves level as Harry Vaughan’s reverse pass met Slater, who finished by side-footing into the roof of the net.
Quite astonishingly, Hull scored again within 60 seconds, Estupiñán with a clinical left-footed finish from 20 yards that went beyond Yilmaz.

@JacobGaskill_: We are winning the league
@lufcrob0: am a hull fan now
@HarrySmith_21: How the hell have they rattled so many of their scummy fans over a pre season friendly 🤣
@Nathhhavfc: This is proof the English football pyramid is far far superior to any other league in the world
@DanPott99779297: We’re lookin’ like a side that has a pretty good understandin’ 👍🏻 Liam Delap had some nice touches and showed his class 👍🏻 Pretty much the full Squad deserve a big up for a solid performance. Harvey was everywhere, showed some smart play 👍🏻 Also nice to see Woods have a solid game 👍🏻
@Jordan_Tallett: To be fair to Galatasaray, their pressing in the first half was insane. They really showed their quality when they had their stronger team out, but I still don’t think that detracts from our second half performance. Oscar, Slater and surprisingly Woods all changed things. #hcafc
@lukebed79: Good game that especially after we’ve only probably had a week back training. Tetteh, Christie and Oscar scoring after coming back from injuries is great and Harry V looks difficult to leave out the team IMO 🖤🧡🐯 UTT #hcafc
@JPhcafc: After tonight’s second half display, Oscar needs to be kept at all costs. Put some respect on his name 🇨🇴 Final thoughts on tonight, Greaves looked so much better than Macca, which wasn’t the case for large parts of last season. Liam has a really difficult decision on his hands there. #hcafc
@Dreadnought28: Great confidence booster. Harry Vaughan the most impressive player. Turkish supporters near me wanted to know who he was.
@BobbiHadgraft: Lots of positives from that. Oscar proves important for us & I don’t think we can afford to part with Greaves. Never fail to be impressed by Vaughan & Woods ran the show in the second half. And I’m bloody delighted we’ve penned a deal with Slater. An enormous asset. #hcafc
@gingergerkin: 40 mins in, we’re shit and gonna get relegated. 90 mins in, what a class game, gonna be a great season. Chill lads, what will be will be, good manager, chairman who cares, ceo who seems to know what he’s doing. It will all be fine #hcafc UTT 🐯
@LUFC1992_v2: Well done Hull City 👏👏 First and last time I’ll ever say that.
@Ambraneri: That was a fun evening.. #hcafc being the genial guests and letting the Champions of Türkiye get a 3-0 lead before the predictable comeback to clinch a 4-3 victory. FOOTBALL IS BACK.
@jordantyson92: We are massive. The job Acun and Tan have done is outstanding…. #hcafc
@GrahamCannon: Let’s be honest City fans, we all know that watching our club is always going to be a rollercoaster ride – strap in and enjoy! #hcafc
