A total of 14.3 million supporters attended Premier League matches in the campaign just gone, with the Premier League seeing an average attendance set at 39,636.
Fans really made the most of getting back in the stands and going through the turnstiles for the first time since the coronavirus pandemic.
It’s reported that only 835,170 supporters in total went to top flight matches for the 2020/21 season. With clubs at time having a reduced capacity or had games played behind closed door.
But now the numbers are back to where we expect them to be. So without further ado, here’s how full each Premier League stadium was for the 2021/22 season…
1. Leicester City
The capacity at Leicester City’s King Power Stadium is set at 32,273, with an average of 31,940 going through the turnstiles. This means their ground was 99% filled for 2021/22.
They finished the campaign in 8th place, picking up 52 points from the 38 games played.
Highest home attendance: 32,236 (Saturday 5th March 2022 v Leeds)
Lowest home attendance: 21,163 (27 October 2021 v Brighton)
2. Norwich City
The capacity at Norwich City’s Carrow Road is set at 27,244, with an average of 26,883 going through the turnstiles. This means their ground was 98.7% filled for 2021/22.
They finished the campaign in 20th place, picking up 22 points from the 38 games played.
Highest home attendance: 27,606 (11th December 2021 v Man Utd)
Lowest home attendance: 20,090 (24 August 2021 v AFC Bournemouth)
3. Arsenal
The capacity at Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium is set at 60,704, with an average of 59,811 going through the turnstiles. This means their ground was 98.5% filled for 2021/22.
They finished the campaign in 5th place, picking up 69 points from the 38 games played.

4. Newcastle United
The capacity at Newcastle United’s St James’ Park is set at 52,388, with an average of 51,487 going through the turnstiles. This means their ground was 98.4% filled for 2021/22.
They finished the campaign in 11th place, picking up 49 points from the 38 games played.

5. Everton

6. Liverpool
The capacity at Liverpool’s Anfield is set at 54,074, with an average of 53,008 going through the turnstiles. This means their ground was 98% filled for 2021/22.
They finished the campaign in 2nd place, picking up 92 points from the 38 games played.

7. Manchester United
The capacity at Man Utd’s Old Trafford is set at 74,879, with an average of 73,156 going through the turnstiles. This means their ground was 97.7% filled for 2021/22.
