In this article, we take a look at how full each National League stadium was for the 2021/22 season now that all matches have been played.

A total of 1.3 million supporters attended fifth tier matches in the campaign just gone, with the division seeing an average attendance set at 3,100.

Fans really made the most of getting back in the stands and going through the turnstiles for the first time since the coronavirus pandemic.

1) WREXHAM

The capacity of Wrexham’s stadium is set at 10,771 while they ended up with an average attendance of 8,644 for the 2021/22 season, meaning the ground was 80.25% full.

According to the Blue & Gold Trust Official Website, the Welsh outfit’s highest attendance at home was 10,118 against Stockport County on the 8th of May 2022.

The club finished the season in 2nd place, taking 88 points from 44 games played, though lost in the playoffs to Grimsby.

2) STOCKPORT

The capacity of Stockport’s stadium is set at 10,841 while they ended up with an average attendance of 7,126 for the 2021/22 season, meaning the ground was 65.73% full.

According to the Blue & Gold Trust Official Website, the Hatters’ highest attendance at home was 10,307 against FC Halifax Town on the 15th of May.

The club finished the season in 1st place, taking 94 points from 44 games played, and went on to be crowned champions, sealing an EFL return.

3) GRIMSBY

The capacity of Grimsby’s stadium is set at 9,052 while they ended up with an average attendance of 5,704 for the 2021/22 season, meaning the ground was 63.01% full.

According to the Blue & Gold Trust Official Website, the Mariners’ highest attendance at home was 7,818 against Stockport County on the 15 of April.

The club finished the season in 6th place, taking 77 points from 44 games played, and went on to win the playoff final against Solihull, sealing an EFL return.

4) CHESTERFIELD

The capacity of Chesterfield’s stadium is set at 10,504 while they ended up with an average attendance of 6,403 for the 2021/22 season, meaning the ground was 60.95% full.
