Harry Winks names which Premier League stadium he thinks has the best atmosphere

Tottenham Hotspur player Harry Winks recently made an appearance on talkSPORT, where he also named which was the best ground for atmosphere that he’s played at.

That stadium coming out on top was Crystal Palace’s Selhurst Park, beating the likes of all the other top flight stadiums, Real Madrid’s Bernabeu, Borussia Dortmund’s Signal Iduna Park and Atletico Madrid’s Wanda Metropolitano.

He told Jim White: “I think Crystal Palace is a special place to go because [like the new Spurs stadium], the sound doesn’t leave it and you know you’re in for a game when you go there.”

Jamie O’Hara seemed surprised at his answer, before saying: “Jim, he’s just played in a Champions League final and he’s saying that Crystal Palace is the best stadium he’s played at?!”

Winks defended his answer, talking about old stadiums and looking back and remembering how the old White Hart Lane used to be.

He added: “It’s an iconic place and where I scored my first goal for the club [against West Ham in 2016].

“What they’ve tried to do is make the new pitch and stadium as similar as they possibly could – obviously on a larger scale – and it still feels like home when you go there.

“I know there have only been eight games or so, but it’s home already.”

The boyhood Spurs fan continued to praise the sound and size of his side’s new stadium.

Winks continued: “You could always feel the crowd on top of you, especially when we were doing well. It’s similar to the new one.

He spoke about England, reckoning the squad can win the next World Cup, VAR also got a mention. You can watch those interviews below…
