Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher baffled by non league club’s badge in guessing game

Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher have been left rather baffled by a non league club’s badge in a guessing game with player’s careers.

They were completely stumped when they came across the logo of National League South club Welling United, lined up in the order of a certain players’ career path.

After Carragher got the first three correct, the duo had then seen the eight badges of the football clubs that Steve Finnan had played for.

But when the sixth tier club’s crest came up, neither of the pair recognised it – this is where Finnan had started his career.

In the end it was Carragher who won the game 9-2 against Neville, finally getting the correct answer, but only just after the producer had asked if they needed a clue.

Carragher though jumped in by answering with Finnan – his former teammate at the Reds.

“What’s that first badge,” Carragher questioned – before Neville added: “Bayern Munich, is that?” And after staring at it for a few seconds, one of the producers said: “Welling United.”

Carragher said: “Who?”

Finnan is an Irish former international footballer who played as a right back and is the only player to have played in the World Cup, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Cup, Intertoto Cup, all four levels of the English league football and the National League.

Among the honours won throughout his career was the 2005 UEFA Champions League Final for Liverpool.

Finnan was known for his attacking role and ability to cross the ball, and impressed enough to play 52 internationals for the Republic of Ireland from his debut in 2000, scoring twice. and also played for them at the 2002 FIFA World Cup.

FINNAN’S CAREER:

1990–1993 – Wimbledon

Here’s what fans said as Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher were baffled by the non league club’s badge in a guessing game…

@rhysmcc44: Wouldn’t have that @wellingunited

@DannyMajor2: Carragher with ridiculous football knowledge

@DaveGroundHops: Shows how little regard they have for non league. Premier league cares about premier league and premier league only

@CaeKx: The worst thing is Gary owned a club who were in non league not too long ago..

@mattmein1: How does he not know the might Welling United 🔴🔴

@d_scorer17: This is ledge 👏🏼 basically what every WhatsApp group did during COVID 🤣

@bp_06_: First time Welling and Bayern Munich have been in the same sentence

@Matt_Samuels0: @Carra23 shambles, get down park view road and have a bevvie 😂

@calthomas_: It’s a shock to absolutely no one that the bloke who has been consistently wrong about Arsenal and football in general is left in the fucking dust when it comes to a general knowledge situation.

@OTG_UK: Reminder to disregard both of these whenever they try to comment on football outside of the Prem. Couldn’t identify the badge of Cambridge United, let alone European Cup winners Red Star. Tell us you only watch the Prem without telling us etc… embarrassing 🤡

@Rob_WHUFC_91: This is the most impressive thing carragher has done while at sky

@JohnS198787: Knew it already but Carra is actually miles clear of Neville in terms of ball knowledge 👍🏻

@Gerald_yea: No way neville said bayern Munich 🤣🤣🤣

@LeeTaylor93: Big up welling

@robertouk7: Shocking effort from @GNev2 there

@JackCBellamy18: Some great lower league football knowledge on show

@jameswe1ght: I think you’ve have just found Bradley Walsh a new 4pm tv show 🤨 I’d watch the shit out of that show.

@Gary_Poynton: Neville’s football knowledge is highly suspect I have to say

@bkelly776: That is outstanding from Carragher tbf

@willrodrigues__: 🤣🤣🤣 the welling United bit jokes

@jdwmaguire: 😂😂😂 you can see Gary is seething… he hates to lose! Have to say fair play to Jamie, he’s quick 🫢

@Perkinz9: Carra absolutely killed him!

@MaxSAFC_: Up the wings

@foxseabirds: Carra’s little laugh after each win is finishing me 😂😭
