Check out more of FourFourTwo’s predicted National League table for 2026/27 below…
16) HALIFAX – FourFourTwo said in their verdict: “it’s been another summer of change at the shay: following an eighth-placed finish, Adam Lakeland has dropped a tier to join Morecambe.
“Replacing him is John McGrath, who has earned his shot at this level with impressive stints at Mickleover and Buxton. But defender Will Smith followed Lakeland and attacker Jamie Cooke is now with big-spending Hednesford Town. 16th”
15) BOSTON – FourFourTwo said in their verdict: “In January, former Ipswich and Grimsby boss Paul Hurst returned to the club where he’d once been joint-manager with Rob Scott. It inspired a rejuvenation of Boston’s flagging 2025-26 campaign, and they eventually finished in mid-table.
“Hurst has won promotion from this division twice before, so his know-how is a major plus, even if adding another to his CV seems unlikely this season. 15th”
14) ALTRINCHAM – FourFourTwo said in their verdict: “Alty ended Phil Parkinson’s eight-year reign last October after a sub-par start to the season.
“Neil Gibson impressed as interim and is tasked with freshening things up. Though Isaac Marriott and Olly Crankshaw have been lured to Barrow, new deals for Lewis Banks, Matty Kosylo and skipper Tom Crawford represent good business. 14th”
13) SUTTON – FourFourTwo said in their verdict: “A relegation battle signalled the end for Steve Morison, with Chris Agutter replacing him. The ex-Worthing gaffer spent most of the season firefighting, waiting for this summer’s overhaul.
“Attacking midfielder Charlie Carter is a standout signing from Dorking; Jordan Moore-Taylor and Temi Babalola arrive from Forest Green. 13th”
12) WOKING – FourFourTwo said in their verdict: “At 43, Jermain Defoe took the plunge into management with the Cards in March – they were safely in mid-table by then, so this season will be the real test.
“Zico Asare – formerly an England C international – has moved south from Harrogate, while winger Liam Dulson impressed for Maidenhead in the sixth-tier, as did Harrison Sohna during a season at Hereford. 12th”
11) TAMWORTH – FourFourTwo said in their verdict: “The Lambs are the latest non-league club to have undergone an American takeover, with
“24-year-old chairman Abdullah Ashraf targeting the EFL. All in good time. Manager Andy Peaks transformed them from a Southern League side into an established National League outfit in the blink of an eye and has retained the bulk of his squad, including striker Dan Creaney. 11th”
10) HARROGATE – FourFourTwo said in their verdict: “Having entered the EFL with Barrow in 2020, Harrogate return to non-league with them, too. The damage was done by a run of four points from 20 games – too much for January transfers to recover.
“Long-serving boss Simon Weaver has brought Bailey Hobson to Wetherby Road from Chesterfield, plus exciting young King’s Lynn midfielder Morgan Williams. 10th”
9) FYLDE – FourFourTwo said in their verdict: “Fylde used to have ‘2022’ stitched on their shirt sleeves as a target date to reach the EFL, but they have spent the past few years bouncing between the National League and National League North.
“They’re back in the fifth tier as champions, with impressive young boss Craig Mahon doing the business in his first year after joining from Curzon Ashton, guiding the club to 100 points and 112 goals. A settled squad may be key. They could surprise people. 9th”
