16) CHELTENHAM
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted Cheltenham Town to finish in 16th place for the 2026/27 League Two campaign.
26/27 FFT VERDICT: “A first summer of Garlick and Cotterill in charge should yield progress. Replacing 2025-26’s best performers is the key. One such signing, Charlie McCann, can form a good midfield pairing with Ben Stevenson.”
The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 21st place for the 2025/26 League Two campaign – instead they finished 18th.
15) ROCHDALE
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted Rochdale to finish in 15th place for the 2026/27 League Two campaign. This was done before the new ownership came in.
26/27 FFT VERDICT: “A club back on the up and reconnected with community values, Rochdale are hoping for another 100-year EFL stay. They will secure safety this season, but back-to-back promotions look tough after McNulty’s exit.”
The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 4th place for the 2025/26 National League campaign – instead they finished 2nd and won the playoffs.
14) WALSALL
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted Walsall to finish in 14th place for the 2026/27 League Two campaign.
26/27 FFT VERDICT: “The Saddlers hope to build on recent promotion challenges under a new, attacking coach in Lee Grant, who did good work at Ipswich. A policy of poaching talent from non-league could, however, yield mixed results.
The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 10th place for the 2025/26 League Two campaign – instead they finished 13th.
13) NORTHAMPTON
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted Northampton Town to finish in 13th place for the 2026/27 League Two campaign.
26/27 FFT VERDICT: “Chris Hogg is a bright coach, and keeper Zach Jeacock is a smart loan, but it’ll take more to banish the memories of last season’s dreadful finish: they returned to pre-season with 16 of that squad still in situ.”
The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 24th place for the 2025/26 League One campaign – and that is where they ended up.
12) SWINDON
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted Swindon Town to finish in 12th place for the 2026/27 League Two campaign.
26/27 FFT VERDICT: “Swindon seek to rekindle the attacking prowess of the first half of last term, while adding Stephan Negru and Mitch Clark for solidity. Structural questions linger though, and crashing out of the top seven was rough.”

11) COLCHESTER
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted Colchester United to finish in 11th place for the 2026/27 League Two campaign.
26/27 FFT VERDICT: “The lapsed takeover is bad news, but it at least ensures continuity under the Cowleys. The U’s were a top-seven side last term with everyone fit, so they can make the cut if they replace loan star Micah Mbick.”

10) ROTHERHAM
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted Rotherham United to finish in 10th place for the 2026/27 League Two campaign.
26/27 FFT VERDICT: “With the managerial hoo-ho, the Millers’ recruitment delays were far from ideal preparation. They have good players and adding Steve McClaren was a coup, but a slow start may compromise any play-off bid.”
The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 13th place for the 2025/26 League One campaign – instead they finished 23rd.
9) CREWE
The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted Crewe Alexandra to finish in 9th place for the 2026/27 League Two campaign.
26/27 FFT VERDICT: “Top-seven incumbents for large spells of the last three seasons, Crewe intend to make the next step. New recruit Jordan Gibson knows what it takes, although an injury crisis in a thin squad could prove to be costly.”
