FourFourTwo predicts the 2024/25 League Two table

The 2024/25 season is just around the corner, and with that in mind, we look to FourFourTwo who predicts the League Two table.

We turn our attention to the fourth tier, and as always, it causes plenty of reaction and debates on social media up until the first few games of the campaign.

You can order your copy of the FourFourTwo magazine, including the much loved season preview magazine by clicking HERE.

Have a look at who they thought would finish from 24th to 1st below, some will surprise, others not so…

24) MORECAMBE

The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted them to finish in 24th place (relegated) for the 2024/25 campaign.

24/25 FFT VERDICT: Bringing savvy Derek Adams back gives the Shrimps a chance, but only if owner Jason Whittingham sells up. Financial woes meant, at the start of pre-season, they’d have had to promote youngster Saul Fox-Akanda to amass enough players for a five-a-side team,

The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 20th place for the 2023/24 League Two campaign – instead they finished 15th.

23/24 FFT VERDICT: Though Morecambe are well-run day-to-day, ownership concerns dominate. Relegation hasn’t made things easy for manager Derek Adams, for whom survival looks a more realistic aim rather than a repeat of 2020/21’s historic promotion from League Two, especially given the massive turnover of players.

23) ACCRINGTON

The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted them to finish in 23rd place (relegated) for the 2024/25 campaign.

24/25 FFT VERDICT: Poor treatment of legendary boss John Coleman breeds disgruntled mood that could be heightened if things start off slowly, despite the talents of Connor O’Brien and Alex Henderson. Snapping up defender Farrend Rawson helps – losing Jack Nolan and Tommy Leigh doesn’t.

The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 13th place for the 2023/24 League Two campaign – instead they finished 17th.

23/24 FFT VERDICT: Everest results with a Mariana Trench budget was never going to last forever, and Accrington Stanley suffered their first relegation of Coleman’s 22 seasons in charge.  This rebuild as they head into League Two looks tricky – with a bloated squad it’s been hard to recruit, but skipper Seamus Conneely’s new deal is a positive. An immediate return to the third tier is unlikely, but don’t write them off too early.

22) BROMLEY

The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted the League Two newcomers Bromley to finish in 22nd place for the 2024/25 campaign.

24/25 FFT VERDICT: Bromley’s first season in the EFL in their 132 year history could be a struggle, but the spirit of Andy Woodman’s side – plus the goalscoring feats of Michael Cheeks – might just see them safe. Defender Callum Reynolds, 34, is overdue his shot at this level.

21) NEWPORT

The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted them to finish in 21st place for the 2024/25 campaign.

24/25 FFT VERDICT: New chairman Huw Jenkins may struggle to bring ‘The Swansea Way’ to Newport County,a club that has historically thrived with a siege mentality rather than possession-based ideals. However, they should stay up, once they’ve reverted to their core identity.

The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 21st place for the 2023/24 League Two campaign – instead they finished 18th.

23/24 FFT VERDICT: If Newport County continue their form since Graham Coughlan’s October arrival, they’ll be play-off candidates. It might not be that simple, though, with Cam Norman and others leaving, even if attacking midfielder Nathan Wood adjusts to League Two after impressing in the Cymru Premier for Penybont.

20) HARROGATE

The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted them to finish in 20th place for the 2024/25 campaign.

24/25 FFT VERDICT: Popular keeper James Belshaw’s return last season brought the feelgood factor, and subsequent momentum promoted a brief flirt with the playoffs. After losing Rod McDonald, Town may revert to type: too good for the dogfight, not quite mid-table standard.

The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 22nd place for the 2023/24 League Two campaign – instead they finished 13th.

23/24 FFT VERDICT: After starting life in the EFL with 17th-, then a pair of 19th-placed finishes, Harrogate Town target further progress following a decent start to the window. Kazeem Olaigbe, Tom Eastman and Alex Pattison will be missed, though, and League Two just keeps getting stronger.

19) COLCHESTER

The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted them to finish in 19th place for the 2024/25 campaign.

24/25 FFT VERDICT: After only managed to stay up on the final day of the campaign, Colchester United needed a huge rebuild. They’ve since brought in more quality and have their best manager in years – but how much do we trust a club that’s finished 15th or below in 2019-20?

The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 15th place for the 2023/24 League Two campaign – instead they finished 22nd.

23/24 FFT VERDICT: With fresh investment, an exciting, young crop and a talented coach in Ben Garner, progress is likely at Colchester United, though. How much depends on whether Noah Chilvers and Junior Tchamadeu can be replaced if they leave, with Ossama Ashley already departed. Ellis Iandolo has added valuable experience from Swindon Town, however, so it’s not all doom and gloom at the League Two side.

18) CHELTENHAM

The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted them to finish in 18th place for the 2024/25 campaign.

24/25 FFT VERDICT: The Robins are recruiting from first hand experience rather than a more scientific process, which has its limitations. Luke Young and Arkess Jude-Boyd are the pick of the new additions, but Michael Flynn has his work cut out to repeat his Newport heroics.

The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 22nd place for the 2023/24 League One campaign – instead they finished 21st.

23/24 FFT VERDICT: The Robins chucked in a fair few no shows last season, but Alfie May’s quality converted the better performances into results. With the forward almost certain to go, they might play well without reward more often, meaning less leeway. This could be a struggle…

17) GRIMSBY

The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted them to finish in 17th place for the 2024/25 campaign.

24/25 FFT VERDICT: A full pre-season hands David Artell a better opportunity to evolve the style than last year’s slugfest provided, and the capture of highly rated defender Cameron McJannet will surely help. Danny Rose should steer the Mariners into mid-table safety in a transitional campaign.

The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 12th place for the 2023/24 League Two campaign – instead they finished 21st.

23/24 FFT VERDICT: After overseeing the Mariners’ best FA Cup run in 84 years, Paul Hurst needs to convert the underdog template into one that will give them the consistency to challenge in League Two, which requires different strengths. Former Stevenage striker Danny Rose is a superb signing for Grimsby Town, though, but the play-offs could prove just out of reach.
