Former Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti arrives in Merseyside on Monday evening for talks over the Everton manager’s job, according to reports.
Ancelotti left the football world by shock when he was sacked by Napoli last week, less than three hours after he had qualified them to the knockout stages of the Champions League.
Since then he has been replaced with Gennaro Gattuso last week and now Ancelotti became a target for Everton’s majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri and chairman Bill Kenwright since axing Marco Silva.
In the 60-year-old’s managerial career, he’s won the Premier League, the FA Cup and the Community Shield during his time with Chelsea between 2009 and 2011, and also lifted three Champions League trophies with numerous clubs.
Current interim boss Duncan Ferguson, who has done better than expected should we say in his two games in charge so far, is said to remain as part of the first-team coaching staff if the Italian joined the Toffees.
CURRENT SKY BET ODDS FOR THE EVERTON JOB:
Carlo Ancelotti – 1/2
David Moyes – 3/1
Duncan Ferguson – 11/2
Mikel Arteta – 16/1
Rafael Benitez – 16/1
