McCann spent a total of eight years at Turf Moor, making more than 250 appearances and scoring 31 goals.
He helped Burnley get promoted to the Premier League in 2009 before he left the club for Wigan Athletic in 2013 where he went on to help them also win promotion from League One.
Since 2016, he’s played for DC and Atlanta and also went out on a short long spell with Coventry City.
In his career, he has also had one appearance in FA Community Shield, five appearances in UEFA Europa League and one appearance in EFL Trophy (so far).
On his first signing as Oldham Head Coach, Dino Maamria said: “Chris has been training with us for a few weeks now and has impressed in every department.
“His experience in the game can only help us moving forwards as a team and I’m delighted we’ve been able to bring him in to boost my options.”
McCann will wear the number 25 shirt whilst at the club and is available for selection for the home fixture against Macclesfield today.
