Footage surfaces of fans fighting during Colwyn Bay v Bangor

Footage surfaces on social media showing a group of fans fighting with each other during Colwyn Bay v Bangor 1876 on Saturday afternoon.

Bangor 1876 beat 10-man Colwyn Bay 4-0 on the opening day of the JD Cymru North season at the Four Crosses Construction Arena.

Colwyn Bay should’ve gone ahead just a minute in, playing decent stuff, but it was Bangor who made the most of their chances and when Bay went down to 10 men first half at two down it was all over.

Despite the beautiful setting for football, and a fantastic crowd of 1,236 for the 2nd tier of Welsh football, the heat got to some fans in the stands.

CLUB STATEMENT:

The club is aware of videos on social media of an incident between spectators towards the end of Friday’s game JD Cymru North game.

Colwyn Bay Football Club condemns such behaviour, which has no place at our club or within football.

We wish to remind everyone that these actions will not be tolerated by the club and we will collectively work together, alongside the police, to bring offenders to justice and stamp this out of our game.

A person guilty of a Section 4A Public Order Act Offences can receive anything from a financial penalty or up to 26 weeks imprisonment.

As with all football related offences, the Courts can, and in all likelihood will also consider the imposition of a Football Banning Order.

Llanelian Road has always been a safe place for all fans to enjoy a day out at the football and we will ensure this continues to happen at all future games.
