Footage surfaces of alleged incident between young Doncaster supporter and Bradford fans

Footage surfaces of an alleged incident between a young Doncaster supporter and Bradford City fans after the match on Tuesday night.

The short clip, which has gone on to over 200,000 views online, sees one of the culprits calling the male – down on the ground covering his bloodied face – a ‘div’.

When asked how the young lad was doing, Twitter user @isaac7665 said: “He’s good, me and a couple other was with him on the way home in Leeds station. He’s all good now. He was shaking like mad.”

Football fans across the country have flooded the comment section wishing the young lad well, hoping he makes a speedy recovery while also condemning the trouble.

As mentioned, Twitter users reacted as footage surfaces of the alleged incident between a young Doncaster supporter and Bradford fans…

@Tinkerler99: Anyone fighting at the football is embarrassing

@bcafcwin: Absolutely no place for this whatsoever. Hope the lad in question is okay and recovering. To the ‘so called’ supporters who condone this, I reckon I speak for most of the fanbase we don’t want to associate with the likes of you, stay away. #BCAFC

@bowers_bcafc12: Whoever these so called ard “youths” are beating up a kid walking home with his dad I hope you’re ashamed with urself and I hope the club find you and ban you. Fucking embarrassing fan base we have. #bcafc

@markomenzy: Embarrassing the club!

@DonnaW1010: Discussing and I hope they are caught. He’s just a kid?? 🥹

@_shaunmiller_: ‘Little div’ – Nah mate the little div is the person going to football and starting scraps with anyone, let alone a young lad enjoying going the game with his da. Fucking wet wipes are some football fans these days

@maisiedarvillxx: said it once n i’ll say it again it’s embarrassing as fuck grow up man literally what did he do for that??

@T92Barnsley: I always find football hooligans scrapping really bizarre because they’d literally all be best mates in any other circumstance. You all wear the exact same things, watch the same films and listen to the same music, absolutely no reason at all to be fighting over footy

@JakeMurphyMedia: disgusting! Seen some comments saying he’s wearing ‘casual gear’ so it’s fair game! Get to fuck! Sometimes I wear my orient stuff, other times ,I wear my designer stuff . Doesn’t mean I’m trying to reform the OTF if I wear designer. Bunch of knobs who can’t handle their beer

@anyachappellxx: nothing i hate more than young lads at the footy giving it large because they’re in a group, fucking scumbags

Tyler Smith scored a late goal to secure a draw for Bradford in what was their first game after 17-day break due to consecutive postponements.

The game started slowly for Bradford, with Doncaster dominating the first half, which saw a total of seven bookings.

Doncaster took the lead just before half time through Luke Molyneux, but Bradford fought back in the second half with Smith getting the host’s equaliser with a close-range finish from Harry Chapman’s delivery on the 84th minute, ensuring both teams shared the points.

The result leaves Doncaster sitting 20th in the League Two table with 40 points from 35 games, and steering clear of the drop zone, Bradford are 15th with 47 points from 34 games, and 7 points from the playoff places.

Unused subs: Colin Doyle, Liam Ridehalgh, Bobby Pointon.

Bradford boss Graham Alexander said: “A point was all we deserved.

“The first half was unacceptable from us, the players responded well in the second half.

“They showed that they wanted to win the game, they showed they wanted to put the first-half performance behind them and they looked to come away with a win.

“I do not know what the cause of the first-half performance was. Whether or not the lay-off in between games was a issue, I am not sure.

“We have to start better. We have to be better than how we played in the first 45 minutes.

“We did not put as much pressure on Doncaster as we should have. It was a poor performance in the first half.”

“I believe the squad is good enough to be successful.

“The players we have coming back will be key for us, as we look towards the end of the season.

“We have been hit hard with injuries, people like Tyreik (Wright) who have played very little games can get up to speed and in the rhythm of playing.

“We need players back as the games will be coming thick and fast. Weekend to midweek games are coming now with the rearrangements.

“Saturday is another game, and we should carry on from tonight’s second-half showing.

“The side have been there earlier in the season, so they will be used to the atmosphere.

“We will go again on Saturday, and look to get the three points.”

Tyler Smith said: “It was disappointing.

“We expected to get three points at home, we need to win these games.

“We got a point, but we should be having all three. We will move onto the next game.

“It was good to get out there, I am always ready for my chance to play.

“I was ready tonight and got my goal. We are just disappointed to not be able to come away with all three points.

“It is always pleasing to see your hard work pay off.

“On a personal note, the goal was good. I was happy to get on the scoresheet, but we wanted the win, as we do every game.

“We need to go to Accrington and get three points. We need to right the wrongs of tonight at the weekend.

“We need to work ahead of the game and look to come away with all three points.”

Doncaster’s Grant McCann said:

“I’m really disappointed we’ve drawn the game. I thought in the first half we were outstanding with how we played.

“I’m always honest and I come out and tell you what I told the players and I said to them that we need to get to the point – and we will do – when we’ve got teams on the ropes, that we kill them off.

“We had them on the ropes in the first half. We passed around them, the angles, the space we exploited. I thought we were very, very good in the first half on a shocking pitch.

“It was a really good performance from us in the first half. We said at half time that there would be a reaction from Bradford in the second half – they’re combative, they go long, try to switch the play and they wait for that one moment.

“We had some good opportunities where we should have scored in the second half.

“I’m disappointed. Any other time coming to Bradford and getting a draw is a decent point but I’m just disappointed that with the way we’ve played, we’ve only taken a point.

“I said to the boys that we need to get to the point where we can go and go again. Score again, create again, be better.

“We will get to that point but I’m frustrated a little bit.”
