After Nigel Adkins stepped down from his role as Hull City boss yesterday, we’ve taken a look at who are favourites for the job at the KCOM Stadium.
He issued a statement confirming that news that he and the club’s “futures are not aligned”.
He took over at the club in December 2017 and led them to an 18th-placed finish in the Championship in his first season in charge.
This season he managed them to 13th but, despite being offered a contract extension beyond this season, feels he cannot continue.
Since then fans have been left far from happy, with the majority taking to aim their anger at the Allams family, whose name also was trending on Twitter yesterday.
Take a look at who are the top six favourites below and on the next page.
6th) TONY PULIS
Tony Pulis was sacked as Middlesbrough manager in May 2019 after missing out on the Championship playoffs on the final day of the 2018/19 season. He did manage to do so the previous season, though lost out to Aston Villa in the semis.
Between 1992 and 2017, he’s managed Bournemouth, Gillingham, Bristol City, Portsmouth, Stoke City, Plymouth Argyle, Crystal Palace and West Brom.
His managerial honours have seen him 1995/96 Third Division runners up, 2007/08 Championship runners up and 2010/11 FA Cup runner up.
Current odds on Sky Bet: 10/1
5) SIMON GRAYSON
He has been without a club since he was dismissed at Bradford City in May 2018, managing just 14 matches for them.
He’s also managed Sunderland, Preston, Huddersfield, Leeds and Blackpool.
His managerial honours has seen him win the 2015 League One final with Preston, win the 2012 League One playoff final with Huddersfield, promotion from the third tier of English football with Leeds in 2010 and another League One playoff final win with Blackpool in 2007.
Current odds on Sky Bet: 8/1
4) DARREN MOORE
Moore was a West Brom manager before he was shockingly sacked on 9 March 2019 due of a bad run of home results.
He was originally caretaker, but got the job on a full time basis. Guided them to fourth but won just four of his last 12 league games in charge and suffered defeats by fellow promotion contenders.
Albion are the only club he has managed. He is also a former footballer for Torquay, Doncaster, Bradford, Portsmouth, West Brom, Derby, Barnsley and Burton Albion.
Current odds on Sky Bet: 8/1
