After John Sheridan left Carlisle United for National League strugglers Chesterfield, we’ve taken a look at who are favourites for the job at Brunton Park.

Neil McCann is currently without a club after he was sacked by Dundee, with the club bottom of the 2018–19 Scottish Premiership after collecting just three points from eight games.
He is a former footballer of The Dee as well as Hearts, Rangers, Southampton and Falkirk.
McCann also was a pundit on Sky Sports before getting his first job as manager.

Coach Gavin Skelton rejoined Carlisle United on after he resigned from Workington in January 2019 after just six days and two games in charge of the club.
He was also a player-manager for Queen of the South.

4th) PAUL HURST
Hurst guided Shrewsbury Town to the Playoff Final in May, despite starting the season as favourites for relegation, alongside the final of the Checkatrade Trophy.
He left to join Ipswich in the summer but was sacked in October after taking them to the bottom of the Championship table.
