The draw for the Quarter Finals of the Checkatrade Trophy was made this evening on Sky Sports’ EFL Matters show, yes, on a different time and day.
It was presented by David Prutton along with Don Goodman and Brentford boss Thomas Frank. Eight ties, which wasn’t regionalised this time, were drawn out.
TEAMS LEFT IN THE COMPETITION:
– BRISTOL ROVERS, who beat Northampton Town 2-1
– MAN CITY U21s, who beat Rochdale 4-2.
– BURY, who beat Accrington Stanley 4-2.
– OXFORD UNITED, who beat Cheltenham Town 4-1 on penalties after a 1-1 draw.
– PORT VALE, who beat Shrewsbury 4-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw.
– PORTSMOUTH, who beat Southend United 2-0.
– SUNDERLAND, who beat Newcastle United under-21s 4-0.
– PETERBOROUGH, who beat Chelsea U21s 3-1.

All quarter final ties are to be played over the week of January 21.
There is £50,000 in prize money for the winners, who will progress through.
