Fans urge Sheffield Wednesday to ban supporter for sick way they goaded Sunderland fans

Fans urge Sheffield Wednesday to ban a supporter of theirs for the sick way they goaded Sunderland fans during Friday’s game.

Photos taken from the away end have surfaced, showing a male holding up his phone with a picture of young Bradley Lowery, who died aged 6 in 2017.

What make it more disgusting is that the mate beside the culprit with the phone, is seen in hysterics at what is a disgusting moment.

Now action against them and their actions are being demanded from the football community on social media.

At 2:30pm, Sheffield Wednesday quickly acted, tweeting: “We are aware of the images circulating and have launched an immediate investigation together with South Yorkshire Police.

“We roundly condemn this outrageous and utterly deplorable behaviour. We can only apologise for the undoubted distress caused to Bradley’s family and friends.”

Sheffield Wednesday fans have since set up a GoFundMe page, titled ‘SWFC fans support the Bradley Lowery Foundation’, with donations coming in in response to the photos. You can donate HERE.

The Sunderland fan touched the lives of many people, including his favourite player Jermain Defoe, as he battled with a long illness, having been diagnosed with neuroblastoma – a rare type of cancer – when he was 18 months old.

In December 2016, Bradley’s parents were told he only had “months to live”, with the young lad undergoing treatment and had in remission, but relapsed.

An act of gesture saw over £700,000 raised in 2016 to pay for him to be given antibody treatment in New York, but sadly, medics then discovered his cancer grown and his family was informed his illness was terminal.

Four months on from December, they were told that his latest and final round of his treatment failed, he had “tumour-shrinking treatment” at Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary, only for the cancer to continued spreading.

On the 24th of May 2017, his Mum said Bradley left hospital to start palliative care at home, with more tumours found and further radiotherapy was planned.

Defoe, who was by Bradley’s side much of the way, shed tears during a press conference for his then-new club Bournemouth and said the 6 year old would “always be in my heart”.

Bradley was known worldwide, after an appeal also saw him receive 250,000 Christmas cards from countries as far away as Australia and New Zealand.

In December, he was greeted by England boss Gareth Southgate and Match of the Day pundit Gary Lineker at the BBC Sports Personality of the Year event in Birmingham.

Bradley received the MOTD December goal of the month award after he scored a penalty ahead of Sunderland’s game against Chelsea.

He was a mascot for Everton, with the club pledging £200,000 to his fundraising campaign, and was visited in hospital by a number of Sunderland players.

Even during the tough times, he appeared as mascot for the England team at Wembley Stadium prior to a game that saw Defoe score a goal.

He was given an honorary 41st place in the race card for the Grand National at Aintree in April.

A charity single, “Smile For Bradley” by LIV’n’G, charted at number 28 with all proceeds going to the Bradley Lowery Foundation, set up in his honour.

He was also named Child of Courage at the Pride of North East Awards a few days before a party had been planned to celebrate his sixth birthday, which was attended by Defoe and over 200 well-wishers.
