Fans stunned by ‘filthy’ goal of pre-season contender with players left in amazement

Fans have been left stunned by a ‘filthy’ goal of pre-season contender with players left in amazement at what they had just seen.

Buckley Town travelled to Marine AFC, with AFC Liverpool the home side on Saturday afternoon, but it was one goal in the 2-1 victory for the hosts that got people talking.

@BTFCofficial77 wrote: “Filthy, just filthy… @ruben_limaa take a bow. @AFCLiverpool”

The goalscorer quote tweeted the clip, adding: “No left foot ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿพโ€โ™‚๏ธ”

It even got the attention of the BBC Match of the Day Twitter account. Make sure you put this video on full screen to see it is better quality…

This ‘rabona’ finish, scored in the 89th minute, could only be a consolation goal for Buckley Town. Superb one of that.

It came after AFC Liverpool took the lead with a well worked goal on the 70th minute, the Buckley keeper got a hand to but couldn’t keep it from going over the line.

A flurry of activity saw the Reds have the ball in the net, but the whistle blew. The referee pointed to the spot and issued a red card to a Buckley defender.

In the 75th minute, a penalty taken by Tom Douglas was fired past the Buckley keeper who went the right way.

Then right at the end, Buckley got one back with that finish from Ruben Lima as seen above.

Footage was uploaded online and is rapidly going viral with it getting over 100,000 views at the time of writing, while the likes creep into the thousands.

The Buckley chairman said post-match: “Played well 1st half/start of the 2nd. Changes made it a bit disjointed, and played 20 mins with 10 men after a handball but Ruben’s goal was ridiculous: he lobbed the keeper with a Rabona!”

They will now take on TNS on Monday night. For AFC Liverpool, it’s AFC Knowsley on the 6th.
