Fans have taken to slam the ticket price of King’s Lynn Town’s National League game against Torquay United this upcoming weekend.
They issued a statement on the 4th of December, more of an update to supporters with ‘further arrangements and ticket pricing’s’.
The league newcomers have often caused controversy for the cost of watching a game at their ground, The Walks.

King’s Lynn wrote via their website: “For this and possibly the next few games a capacity of 1400 people has been set for the stadium. This figure also has to include press, photographers and scouts , as well as season ticket holders.
“Tickets for the fixture with Torquay United will be priced at £25 for seating and £22 for terrace tickets. There will be no concession or children’s ticket prices for this game. We would like to place on record that once the capacity of the stadium reaches 2000 we will revert to the prices across all levels that were announced before the start of the season.
“A sale of tickets is underway now for members, and will continue until Monday 7th December. A general sale of tickets will commence at 9am on Tuesday 8th December and will cease on Friday 11th December OR when all tickets have been sold. There will be NO walk up sales for this fixture.
“Club memberships are available to purchase HERE and will guarantee you a ticket for upcoming games. One membership entitles you to One ticket.
“Hospitality packages are available to purchase by clicking HERE. Priced at £65 they include a three course meal, match programme , car park pass etc. Further details can be obtained by calling 01553 760060.
“Season ticket holders who do NOT wish to attend Saturday’s and further fixtures for the time being are asked to contact the club on 01553 760060 and we will arrange for your free stream to continue. If we hear nothing we assume you will be attending and will suspend your streaming service.
“We are aware that some supporters are unhappy with our ticketing price structures , especially in relation to children’s pricings. We did offer children’s season tickets, priced at £50 back in July , which were a tremendous bargain and also gave free streaming for the games that have been played behind closed doors. We have had to make, and will continue to make , some difficult decisions. As stated earlier our streaming service will continue until further notice and once we have a capacity reaching 2000 we will revert back to our original pricing structure.”
Fans however took to slam the ticket price of King’s Lynn game against Torquay…
@92_jackrich: Minimum £44 1 adult & child for 5th division football. That’s disgraceful
@robintalkssport: Disgusting, the Club has already been compensated for the loss of income until the end of December, and yet they are trying to fleece their own supporters by charging exorbitant prices to watch Non-League football. Hang your head in shame KINGS LYNN FOOTBALL CLUB.
@MartinL75279040: Absolutely zero consideration for the fans with those prices! People ought to just stay away and knack to them. I know I’m not going and paying £25 there tomorrow…
@JoeBillGibbo: A bargain. Count me and my three kids in. Thanks for making a rare family day out available at such a decent price!
@alfredbarnard1: I’m sure the club will accept an additional payment as a donation from anyone who thinks these ticket prices are just too low
@conorloftus: This is a farce
@smiths1988: Is this a joke? Also children are the future fans… how can you charge £22 per child too
@ForeverAYellow: What a joke from King’s Lynn and their ticket price
@harrythesignman: Yes expensive, but happy to pay £22 to watch my first match since last seasons abrupt suspension of fans and the season. A 12th man crowd back at the Walks is what the team need. We are all in this together.
@WaysCide: You might be happy to do so to help the club. Fine, so pay 22 quid. But to set that as the gate price is frankly disgraceful. Shame on them. They deserve all the bad publicity they will get
@_callumlilley: your suffering enough having to watch kings lynn never mind pay £25
@Analysisu23: Dad and 2 kids would cost £66 before any food or drink, for a national league game, what planet are you on
@stevedarney: … I can pay £18 at Wycombe and watch Championship football
@RWillows: Robbery
@BobbyCUFC03: 22 quid are you having a laugh
@GJP8448: Absolutely disgusting. You only had 500 fans 2 years ago
@MatthewAnkers: You do realise we’re in the middle of a pandemic and money is right pretty scummy kings Lynn
@Chrisbailey14: £22, You realise this is 5th tier and non league, right? Got teams in the champions league campaigning for #twentyisplenty meanwhile Dog and Duck FC here want a premium to watch part time football. Get a grip. People with any sense will boycott your games…
Five months ago, fans criticised King’s Lynn Town for their stupidly expensive season ticket price after being revealed.
The Linnetts replaced York City at the top of the North division, joining Barrow and Wealdstone in being crowned champions and winning promotion, which got ratified by the FA on Thursday.
So because of this, it was obvious the ticket prices would go up, but not to extreme extent that their and other supporters fell they’ve offered.

Speaking on the announcement chairman Stephen Cleeve said: ‘We have taken our time and considered our approach on our pricing structure for next season, taking into account various factors across the business.
We have come up with what I believe is a fair balance and a structure right across our options which reflect the extremely high standard of football this club now find’s itself at.
I want, and I’m sure you do as well, a team that is competitive and that does not come cheap I am afraid to say.
Add to that the extra staffing that is now needed throughout the business off the pitch due to extra responsibilities we find ourselves with the prices having to increase’.
The club have added some new initiatives to their pricing for next season including general admission tickets being cheaper if bought online early ahead of a fixture.
‘A lot of club’s in this league do this and I thought it was worth a go’, added Cleeve.
‘Say for example we have a home Saturday game tickets will be cheaper if they are bought before midnight on the Sunday with prices reverting to a higher level thereafter’.
Cleeve also confirmed that general admission for 16 – 17 year old’s and student’s in full time education would not be available next season with supporters within this age group encouraged to buy season tickets.
‘I really didn’t want to do this but last year we had various instances where the system was being abused and I will not put up with it. Our terrace season tickets have an option where the ticket can be purchased with three spaced payments, but I will also add that no season tickets for either concessions or students will be issued until the club has seen a valid piece of identity’.
