Fans make their feelings known on Newcastle United’s new 2026/27 home kit, with claims of there to be a low turnout in those queuing for it.
Ever since the shirt was leaked, the barcode design, only way to describe it, has caused quite the stir, many fans not taking a liking to it.
Now the day has come for the club to reveal it, and the reaction is much the same, photos of the queues quite different to that of a few years ago.

The club said in a statement: “Newcastle United’s home kit for the 2026/27 season is now available to buy.
“Our adidas home kit for the 2026/27 season has arrived, introducing a fresh, new take on the black‑and‑white stripes. The full kit is available in‑store and online now.
“This season’s shirt reimagines our classic look with a bold, disrupted stripe pattern. An energetic pop of colour around the crew neck collar also adds a fresh take on tradition.
“On the back of the neck sits a magpie, a subtle nod to our heritage and home.
“A future-thinking and progressive jersey has been paired with more traditional clean black shorts and socks to complete this season’s look.
“adidas has brought innovation to the jersey, with the authentic version featuring advanced Climacool+ technology. This is built to keep you cool, dry and comfortable, whether you’re playing five‑a‑side or roaring the lads and lasses on from the stands.”

Adam Pearson said: “It’s kit launch. Where is everyone? There is no one here. I came here I feel like I’ve came here about six years in a row for kit launches and this for me on a personal level is the worst ever kit launch in terms of just how many people are here.
“I’m showing an example now from two years ago and then afterwards I’m going to show a second video which was from the last season. So I’m going to how you in comparison in what previous years on the Adidas have been like and then of course you guys are going to see what it is like today in what is a heavily controversial and probably the most divided and negative kit I would argue in my lifetime as a Newcastle fan.
“I have to be honest looking at the home ship I don’t like it. This is a first for me as well. I agree with you guys. I’m not going to buy the shirt. I’ve decided today not to buy it. I just don’t like it.
“This is not a video of me trying to make something out of this. It’s quite simply I’ve got my money here. I just don’t want to buy that particular kit.
” I just wanted to come here, show you what the kit launch is like, to show you the prices, to show you what you guys should be aware about, and to show you what’s out in the shop.
“We’re going to show you everything on display. We’re going to show you what the experience is like.
“And this is not me at all saying to anyone that decides to buy the home shirt. What are you doing? It’s not that. If you guys want to buy the home shirt, of course, get yourselves in there and buy the home shirt.
“But for me, in a personal level, I’m not a fan of shirt. Therefore, you know what? I’m not going to be someone that’s going to come out in a video and say I don’t like it and proceed to buy some of them. I’m saying I don’t like and I’m going to stick by my word. I’m just not going to buy it this year.
“And I’m hoping Adidas and I’m hoping Newcastle can reflect on the sale differences and I’m hoping they’ll make a better kit next season. That’s the point of this. I just don’t like the home kit and I’m hoping they make a better home kit. That’s what my stance is on this matter.”
It’s the new jackets and t-shirts that interests the supporters more, take a look at these…

But judging by the what is being said on social media and the turnout outside the club shop, majority aren’t keen.
Fans make their feelings known on Newcastle United’s new 2026/27 home kit…
@rachelmccourt_: I hate absolutely everything about this
@toonxarmy1892: Absolutely pish. Whoever designed that and signed it off should be sacked on the spot.
@Marky27NE: Great now we’re gonna have a shit season and be called barcodes
@RyanKirtley97: It’s absolutely honking, isn’t it. Especially that long sleeved one. Can’t wrap my head around how many people would’ve been involved in the design / decision process and we’ve ended up with that🤯
@agbnufc_: It’s not terrible, but it’s mad there were probably 20 designs and someone picked that one.
@geordiejosh: Seriously not looking forward to next season, you can’t get anything right.
@abbey1892: Awful, gives me a headache just looking at it
@EBfromthe13: Fairs lads that’s probably the worst kit in our entire history , best hope the away and 3rd kit are half decent because I’m sure this one won’t be flying off the shelves
@S7EF86: Seriously who the fuck signs this shit off, they need binning. Not buying that shit.
@SouthStandPies: That must be the worst home kit in Newcastle United’s history. Who’s signed this off? #NUFC
@old_toon: Sorry but that is horrendous and is not Newcastle United😢 I’ll still be supporting them though 🖤🤍
@paigeordie: I’d look miserable wearing that kit as well
@TrueGeordieTG: “Fuck tradition & what the fans want – we want to appeal to a global audience” – that’s what some dickhead in a board room said as they signed this shit off. The benefit of adidas was a return to classic designs. The crap bar code and tacky blue on the arms. Absolute garbage.
@LiamBCPFC: That’s the worst Newcastle kit I’ve ever seen
@gw850: I know a few are desperately trying to convince themselves that it’s nice.. but let’s be honest, it’s rancid.
@jordancronin_: I want to like it and maybe it’ll grow on me, but my initial feeling is that it’s awful 🙃
@charles_watts: Oh wow, that’s a bad kit.
@KieranMaguire: Woeful, or as it’s Newcastle, should that be Worful? Haven’t Newcastle fans suffered enough this year already? This is a crime against the stripes. Terrible design.

For me, it’s the sleeves.
The stripes don’t align properly and the blue should continue under the Noon badge to the edge of the sleeve.
They look like an afterthought.
The fact it’s on sale without a front of shirt sponsor is terrible too….#NUFC pic.twitter.com/KG9RwOkQWF

Aside from it looking like a barcode, the new HUGE stripes Adidas are putting on shirts means there’s now a lot of blue on the sleeves. #NUFC pic.twitter.com/jvEcVL5HAM
