Fans have been left horrified at footage of John McGinn getting abused by Chelsea supporters during Saturday’s Premier League fixture.
A sick video of the Scotland international being subjected to ‘anti-Irish and anti-Catholic racism’ has been slammed by Show Racism the Red Card.
The former Hibernian star was in action for Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League on Saturday evening with the hosts winning 3-0.
A video has since emerged from the top flight fixture showing how the Scotland international was subjected to a sick sectarian slur by those sitting in the home end.
The midfielder can be seen walking over to take a corner kick before a voice is heard screaming the abuse at him in the background, and the corner is quickly taken.
He shouts: “Boo you f****** F***** b******. McGinn, you dirty ****.
“F*** off you f****** w*****. We are the people!
“F*** off!”
Horrible racists sectarian b@stards it’s just not a problem in Scotland.

Show Racism the Red Card Scottish Campaign Manager, Jordan Allison said: “The language used is anti-Irish and anti-Catholic racism. It is unacceptable in football and anywhere in society.
“Our charity encourages anyone who hears this type of abuse to safely challenge and report it.
“Show Racism the Red Card works with young people and adults to recognise the impact that racism has on the lives of individuals as well as entire communities.
“We offer our support to any individual or organisation seeking to reflect on their behaviours or use of language, and become more confident in recognising, challenging and supporting the victims of racism.”

McGinn and his teammates are back in action this coming weekend when they take on Everton at Villa Park.
They then return to Stamford Bridge next midweek in the third round of the Carabao Cup.
The incident came as the 3-0 win saw Romelu Lukaku and Mateo Kovacic end their long waits to score for the Blues at Stamford Bridge, while Edouard Mendy was in fine form to keep out Aston Villa and Saul Niguez disappointed on debut.
Player ratings

Player of the match: Mateo Kovacic (Chelsea)
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel: “It was absolutely not comfortable. We played against a strong, strong Aston Villa side. They were well prepared. They looked very sharp and confident from the start and they caused us a lot of problems, especially in the first half.
“Second half was better. More control, a more fluid game and then a lot of chances and half-chances that we did not take very well. We lacked precision to have earlier goals but okay.
“Lukaku has the personality and self-confidence, wants to score and help team with his goals and has the composure to do it. He scored two very difficult goals, no easy tap-ins, and he made the difference for us and helped us get three points against a very strong Aston Villa side. He adds something to the group we did not have in this capacity so far.”
Aston Villa boss Dean Smith: “I’m frustrated with the score line but football is about moments and we didn’t take our moments today. I feel with the squad I have available to me, with the quality of the squad and the athleticism we have, we can go and ask questions of these clubs and I thought we did that in the first half. The second goal took a lot of wind out of our sails. But there were a lot of positives, there’s a lot of belief in this group.”
