A police horse looked to have been punched whilst Southampton and Portsmouth fans tried getting to each other prior to kick-off tonight.
It was always going to be a hostile night, but as Saints supporters down a street to the ground, a group of Pompey lads tried getting to their rivals from the pavement.

Hundreds of officers were needed in what had already been described as the largest soccer-related operation from police in Hampshire with horses, helicopters and drones deployed.
Assistant Chief Constable Scott Chilton told the Daily Echo: “The rivalry is intense and although the two teams haven’t played each other for seven years there’s always the potential for disruption.
“We have been working with both clubs and other partners to devise a very detailed police operation which is designed to ensure everyone’s safety.
“Our priority is public safety and our message is clear – any disorder will not be tolerated.”
As mentioned a police horse had a punch throw at by one ‘fooligan’ before he ended up getting chased by it.
It is claimed that the violent man ended up getting floored by five police officers after doing what he did.
