A fan issues an open letter to any candidate wanting to become new Blackburn Rovers manager, telling them to ‘think twice’.
According to Lancashire Telegraph, Blackburn Rovers have not made contact with Gary Rowett about becoming their new head coach, as replacement for Valerien Ismael.
Leam Richardson and Robbie Savage both reaffirmed their commitment to their current clubs and Mark Hughes has also rejected the rumours.
The report also claims that an approached for Tony Mowbray has not been made, while Chris Coleman is thought to genuine name of interest to the board and initial contact made.
Slaven Bilic refuses to commit mid-way through the season.

To reiterate, this pieces does motivate rule Rowett out in anyway.
Football changes rapidly and I stand by this story’s accuracy, at the time of writing it.
FWIW, also heard noises suggesting he’s now in the frame. Let’s see what develops. #Rovers https://t.co/VEU862Wkd3

The reader for Lancashire Telegraph said for the newspaper:
“To whom it may concern,
“If you are thinking of applying for the vacant management position at Blackburn Rovers, please think twice.
“Do NOT apply if you are only after the job because it is a job and you are unemployed at the moment.
“And, please understand, the job is not for you if you expect to be given a large transfer budget to build your own ‘dream team’.
“Also, if Blackburn Rovers is only a stopgap for you until your favourite former employer comes calling (see John Eustace) or ‘the Board’ decide to change their collective mind about the aforementioned transfer budget (see Paul Lambert), you need not apply.
“Indeed, if you are more concerned about your own reputation and welfare than that of ‘the club’ and its fans, please don’t bother applying.
“Before you put pen to paper or lift that phone, think! Blackburn Rovers are a ‘town’ team with a small, but loyal, support.
“They also have ‘fair weather’ supporters who come out of ‘the woodwork ‘ at the sign of any success, as do every club in the country. Blackburn is a ‘depressed’ town in a ‘depressed’ area.
“A season ticket, or even just a match ticket, is a major purchase for a large part of the Blackburn Rovers fanbase.
“For many of us, a sacrifice has to be made just to attend a game. It may sound stupid to you, but the emotional welfare of the Blackburn ‘faithful’ often depends on the fate of the club.
“If Rovers hurt, we all hurt. If they lose, we all lose, and we go to work in a low mood. If they win, we all win and are a happy workforce.
“As a group, we feel that recent ‘management’ has just ‘messed us about’ and just don’t care. It is just a job to them. To us, it is our life!
“Therefore, please, if this is you, leave us alone in our misery. But, if you really do care and are willing to share your heart and soul with us, please apply; we need you!
“Sent by a hopeful, ordinary Rovers supporter.”

FAVOURITES TO BECOME NEW BLACKBURN MANAGER:
BetVictor – 7th February
Gary Rowett – 2/5
Graham Alexander – 5/2
Robbie Savage – 8/1
Chris Coleman – 8/1
Gareth Ainsworth – 12/1
Mark Hughes – 20/1
Dave Challinor – 20/1
David Prutton: “They’re in search of a new manager. Damien Johnson in charge once again for Rovers. It’s hard to pinpoint what we expect from Blackburn Rovers.
“Historically, the last few seasons, Curtis, they’ve started well then tailed off. Seemingly, this season, the tailing off started earlier on, therefore they find themselves in trouble. They’ve made a change. What’s their next port of call? Who comes in?”
Curtis: “There’s a few managers, particularly one on the sofa that might be good for the job. But yeah, it’s a really difficult one at the moment. They’ve had a lot of injuries and some of those injuries are starting to come back.
I went to the game on Tuesday and they were a side that, yes, they huffed and puffed, probably lacked that attacking kind of impetus in their team, but managed to batten down the hatches and win a 1-0 against a depleted Sheffield Wednesday side.
“When we speak about clubs and we speak about owners and stuff like that, two clubs that are at odds with their owners.
“You see, this was what the fans and what the situation was at the time, but that was it from the first minute of the game. This is early on in the game when Eiran Cashin scores. This isn’t people have left late on in the game.
“It’s a really frustrating one, but Damien Johnson really happy with his team, with the performance they gave him in the short time that he’s been able to take over.
“He’ll be wanting more of that today to show a resilient side against Norwich City.”
David: “Again, we talk about the managerial vacancies, Gary, and that we’re not betraying any trust here with regards to jobs that are on offer. But you look at what Blackburn Rovers are, and I mentioned what Leicester City looks like as an incoming manager, as a proposition.
“With Blackburn Rovers, we seemed to come away, didn’t we, from everything off the field when things were going better on the pitch. Where are we at now in the discussion of where they find themselves and what they should be aiming for?”
Gary: “Well, I think they look like similar jobs because of where they are on the table, but I think they’re very different jobs, in my opinion. I think they’re all fantastic clubs.
“You look at all these clubs with such a great and rich history in the game, and I know sometimes that doesn’t mean that they’re necessarily a buoyant club now, but you can’t help but another Premier League winner back in the day, or a top-flight winner.
“So, I think it’s a club that haven’t been where they wanted to be, but then you look under Jon Dahl Tomasson and Eustace, they were at the top end.
“So, this is the Championship. You’re only a few players, you’re only the right manager away from ten different parts of the league and being up in the round of top six or in the bottom six.
“I think at the moment they’re one of those teams that, the bottom of the league, there’s not many teams there, but that’s the difference between the division this year.
“There’s so many teams, like Norwich, definitely capable of getting out of it. I think Blackburn are one of those ones that need to survive this year.”
Twitter users reacted while a fan issues an open letter to any candidate wanting to become new Blackburn Rovers manager…
@FyldeRover: Love this letter and thank you to whoever penned it because it sums up Rovers and Blackburn perfectly! 💙🤍 #Rovers
@allrovers_: Surely bring in GR (if it happens) proves truly that systematically forcing a similar no nonsense coach like JE out has backfired .Baffled at the running of this club.. if it’s a long term deal. Would go completely against everything they’ve ruined in the past 12 months. #Rovers
@BRFC4Life: The guy who got sacked by a championship club that are doing even worse than #rovers this season is now the favourite for the managers job at Ewood? Yikes.
@ChrisMartin_93: Gary Rowett has been mentioned? Positive: experienced and seems the kind of appointment we’re looking at to steady the ship which we could do with. Negative: was sacked by a team currently below us in the league and in the same relegation fight as us. Interesting. #Rovers
@tootstoman: Hopefully is true out of all the name he would be the one I’d settle for the most in the situation we are in. Names like savage and duff being branded around aren’t ready for this fight. Hughes been there done that. Coleman a big no no. Ainsworth and Alexander also no thanks
@malstar79: For a manager like Rowett he’s out of work and this is a free hit which shouldn’t harm his career too much if he’s gone next Feb. Gets a pay day. Get a payoff if it all goes wrong. Maybe that outweighs any concerns he has about the hierarchy and recruitment. #Rovers
@MikeyDelap: All things considered, Gary Rowett is as good an option as I could see out of what was available and realistic. Solid, knows the league and a back to basics approach. #Rovers
