In this article we take a look at the FA Vase Fifth Round results and the revised Quarter Final Draw following another busy day.
The latest round of the competition was played out on Saturday afternoon and we saw 18 goals (an additional 30 from the shootout across 4 penalty shootouts) and one upset.
The winners from these ties get £2,250 whilst the losers claim £725.
Let’s get straight on that cupset then, United Services Portsmouth of the Wessex League Division One (step 6), knocked out Western League Premier Division’s Tavistock by three goals to one.
Jack Chandler opened the scoring for USPFC on the 11th minute before Andy Todd doubled his side’s lead six minutes later.
Straight after the visitor’s second goal, Liam Prynn got one back for Tavistock, with the half ending by the same scoreline, but could easily have been 5-1.
Dec Seiden put US Portsmouth 3-1 up with a penalty on the 55th minute and managed to hold on to put them a step closer to reaching Wembley.

Hebburn Town became the last remaining team from the North East of England to stay in the competition, with the Northern League Division One side winning 1-0 against Congleton Town of the North West Counties League Premier Division.
Michael Richardson scored the only goal of the game to put them in the quarter finals of the FA Vase, right on the 89th minute also.
Hebburn Town are finalists in the 2020 FA Vase, which is still yet to be played. The date for that, against Consett, is set for the 3rd of May at Wembley, with this season’s final played on the 22nd of May.

Warrington Rylands are another team that progressed through to the next stage, Paul Shanley with the 59th minute goal following a nice ball through from Scarisbrick.
A ball was whipped in from a corner and it looked to strike a Rylands player before going in. 1-1 on the 77th minute.
It ended up going to a penalty shootout, with Warrington Rylands of the North West Counties League Premier Division reaching the quarter-finals for the first time in their history.

Walsall Wood of the Midland League Premier Division took on United Counties League Premier Division’s Anstey Nomads.
After playing out a 0-0 draw, the game could only be settled by a penalty shootout to determine who goes through.
Spot kicks made up for the there being no goals in the 90 minutes of normal time. Walsall Wood coming out victorious 5-4.
Long Eaton United made the trip to Combined Counties League Premier Division outfit Hanworth Villa, playing out an entertaining 2-2 draw, Kameron Campbell stepped up to take the penalty but saw his effort saved, however the follow-up is netted comfortably by the forward. 1-0 on the 12th minute.
Brandon Barzey bombed down the right and drilled a cross into the box looking for the hosts forward, however, Graham swung to clear and got it jumbled between his feet causing the ball to roll into the net. 1-1 on the 20th minute.
Barzey showed brilliant determination to run towards the Blues defence, beat his man and took it around the committed Sam Wilson for an easy strike down the centre. 2-1 to Hanworth on the 36th minute.
Jamie Walker whipped a cross into the box and it was met and powered towards goal, but saved, however, Campbell aware for the rebound again. 2-2 on the verge of half time.
The game ended by that scoreline and needed a penalty shootout, which saw Midland League Premier Division club Long Eaton go through 5-3.

Leighton Town from the Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division progressed through beating Cobham of the Combined Counties League Premier Division by one goal to nil.
Archie McClelland’s late, late goal sees Town progress into the Quarter Finals of the Vase once again. Cue scenes!
Leighton Town got to the quarter final stage of this competition last season, losing 4-3 to Corinthian.

Hadley of the Essex Senior League played out a goalless draw with Hellenic League Premier Division outfit Binfield.
The game had to go to a penalty shootout, with the visitors Binfield coming away with a 5-4 win on spot kicks.
They reached the fourth round stage of this competition back in 2011–12 and 2019–20, so this campaign’s performance is their best yet.

As last but no means least, Flackwell Heath from the Hellenic League Premier Division, won 4-2 against Western League Premier Division outfit Plymouth Parkway – making that 7 hour round trip even more worth while.
Flackwell took the lead, Parker hit a shot in from the edge of the area, the keeper parried out but Taylor followed in and put the ball in the net.
In the 44th minute, Ryan Richards was hauled down in the box and then sent the keeper the wrong way with his spot kick making it 1-1.
With 20 minutes remaining, a cracking strike from outside the box was unleashed by Parker, putting the Buckinghamshire outfit back in front.

Simeon Weekes made it 3-1 to Flackwell on the 80th minute, before Levi Landricombe lifted the ball over the keeper to make it 3-2, one back for Plymouth.
James Mansfield prevented any late comeback from Plymouth, making it 4-2 to Flackwell and sending them through.
