FA Trophy Final tie confirmed after today’s Semi Final results

The teams for the much anticipated FA Trophy Final at Wembley Stadium in May has this afternoon been confirmed.

Leyton Orient, who were down to ten-men, overcame AFC Telford United to book a place. Matt Harrold put Justin Edinburgh’s men ahead following a defensive mix-up on the 6th minute, before seeing red 20 minutes later.

The hosts’ Ellis Deeney got a goal back with half time approaching. A header from Josh Coulson in the 77th minute ended up being the winner to secure a 2-1 win (4-1 on aggregate).

Meeting them in that final is AFC Fylde, who knocked out league below Stockport County in what was a thrilling match.

The Hatters’ Nyal Bell broke the deadline midway through the first half, hitting home 20 yards out and into the far-right corner.

Another goal wasn’t scored until the 65th minute when AFC Fylde went level with Danny Rowe slotting his spot-kick into the bottom-right corner.

That was the start of a flurry of goals as Ryan Croasdale scored from 12 yards to put the visitors in front on the 85th minute.

Stockport got their second of the afternoon when Ash Palmer nodded in at the far post from a corner.

Incredibly a minute later, Alex Reid fires into the bottom corner off the post to make it secure a 3-2 (3-2 agg) Fylde win to meet Orient at Wembley in two months.

The game will be played on Sunday the 19th of May. The runners up will received £30,000 with the winners getting £60,000.

Following the wins for both AFC Fylde and Leyton Orient, fans and players took to social media to praise the clubs on their success and reaching the final, there was also more videos and photos of those celebrations – check out those and what they had to say on the next page.
