FA Cup First Round Replay TV selections revealed

The FA Cup First Round Replay TV selections have been revealed and it’s fair to say it’s had a very mixed response since being announced.

Peterborough United will now visit Salford City’s Peninsula Stadium on Wednesday 16th November, with a 7:45pm kick-off. The game will be broadcast live on ITV 4.

The winner will visit League One Shrewsbury Town in the Second Round on the weekend of 26th November.

The second to be broadcasted on TV is Derby County v Torquay United with ticket information confirmed for the tie at Pride Park Stadium.

The game will take place at Pride Park Stadium on Tuesday 15th November (7:45pm kick-off) and also be shown live on BBC Three, BBC iPlayer and BBC Sport online.

The two sides played out a 2-2 draw at the National League outfit’s Plainmoor ground on Sunday to set up a replay.

The winners of the replay will head to League Two side Newport County in the Second Round of the competition at the end of November.

Twitter users gave their thoughts as the FA Cup First Round Replay TV selections revealed…

@BenFlyde: Who actually wants to watch Salford 🤦‍♂️

@SirSebastian20: Salford on TV again 🥱😴.

@M180_Transfers: Salford again? @GNev2 how do you sit down with this lot stuck up your ringpiece?

@we17998221: Salford and Wrexham always on TV. Macc will be next in another season or two.

@kylesmi62080644: What kind of corruption is this

@cameron42284423: Maybe give the money to clubs that actually need it!

@JackSummmers: Wtf is this

@AlexBrianWhite: Overlooked Wimbledon v Weymouth, Cambridge v Curzon Ashton, Gillingham v Fylde and Woking v Oxford to fawn over Salford this time. Hidden the games away from the main channels, as well. Pathetic.

@SaintMatt7: maybe give tv money to the teams that actually need it and not just show boring games between football league teams…

@jsfmurray2003: Is there any danger of an interesting tie being on tele?

@DarranPearce: Interesting choices given one was already on TV and the other isn’t that interesting. I thought Wimbledon v Weymouth, Hartlepool v Solihull and Gillingham v Fylde would have been better choices

@DN35GTFC: Salford on TV for the FA Cup. Drink!

@TheNashFans: Genuinely horrific choices

@fearabush24: Y Salford vs Peterborough?

@thedanhorler: We all know Torquay are box office.

@The_Fenners: Oh look. 🙈

@harvey_jagger: Tbf bet loads of people are dying to watch Salford v Peterborough

@GeordieMariner: You could of picked curzon v Cambridge. You know a team not in the football league who would of benefitted from the extra tv money and increased spotlight rather than a club who’s been picked a good few times who are bank rolled by former multi millionaire footballers. Football invented by the working class but stolen by the rich.
