Ex-top flight stars are to play in a special charity match at a non league club in aid of a QPR player who was fatally stabbed.
The game will take place at Beaconsfield Town this weekend, organised by former AFC Wimbledon footballer Michael Harvey and member of UK Garage collective So Solid Crew.
All donations and proceeds will go to the Kiyan Prince Foundation, launched in memory of Kiyan Prince, who was on QPR’s books in the 2000s, but lost his life when stabbed outside a London based secondary school on May 18, 2006, aged 15.
The teenager was attacked with a penknife after trying to stop a fight between two boys outside the London Academy in Edgeware, when Hannad Hasan stabbed him in the heart. Kiyan unfortunately died two hours later in hospital.
A Metropolitan Police Sergeant from the local Edgware Safer Neighbourhood team found Prince, who had been in a headlock by Hasan before being knifed; Prince was transferred by air to the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel where he was pronounced dead and two days later Hasan was charged with Prince’s murder.
Hasan, who was found guilty of murdering Kiyan a year later in 2007, is currently serving a life sentence.
Since June 2019, following a fan vote, QPR’s ground at Loftus Road was renamed the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium in memory of Prince and the anti-knife crime charity established by his father. On the 25th of November 2020, the date that would have marked his 30th birthday, the club encouraged all supporters to wear something blue and something white in memory of Prince.
On the 18th of May 2021, on the 15th anniversary of his death, EA Sports added him to FIFA 21 as a tribute with QPR saying he would also be included in their squad list for the 2021–2022 season.

Taking place on Sunday the 29th of May at Beaconsfield Town’s Holloways Park, 3pm kick off, the game sees Arsenal Legends consist the likes of Nigel Winterburn, Luis Boa Morte, Kevin Campbell, and Stefan Schwarz taking part.
Team Harvey’s side include former Manchester City and QPR centre back, Nedum Onuoha, ex-Leicester defender Danny Simpson, former West Ham, Aston Villa and Blackpool player Marlon Harewood, and ex-footballer turn Sky Sports pundit Clinton Morrison.
Ex-Swansea and Reading player Leroy Lita and former Burnley player Matt Taylor have also been added.
Ahead of the match, Harvey said: “We’re proud to be championing the Kiyan Prince Foundation and celebrating the talented footballer Kiyan was.
“The work Mark and his team carry out has never been more important, so to support their goals while – hopefully – scoring some of our own will be a spectacle not to be missed.”
Dr. Mark Prince OBE added: “The Kiyan Prince Foundation is all about turning adversity into positive energy, so I can’t think of a better way to honour Kiyan’s legacy.

Reflecting on the growth of his foundation over the past three years, Mark said: “My family and I, including all of us at KPF, would like to thank everyone involved at Queens Park Rangers, including the supporters, for honouring Kiyan and the work that the Kiyan Prince Foundation is doing.
“Winning the votes for the naming rights of Loftus Road Stadium has brought many benefits to not only the KPF charity but people in and around west London.
“As an organisation, we have been able to collaborate with QPR to deliver motivational talks at schools in the area, and the naming rights brought much more attention to the work we are doing.
“Giving young people the opportunity to come to the KPF Stadium and watch a live game for the first time, being able to rent a nine-seater vehicle from club sponsors VRS, working together on community initiatives and fundraising with players’ involvement have all helped the Foundation to grow
“Covid restrictions brought challenges in terms of generating monetary gain through events for KPF but we have built an ongoing lasting relationship with the club.
“Even though the naming rights’ timeframe has officially come to an end and it is returning to Loftus Road, we look forward to future plans with the club and having a continued impact on young people, resulting in reduced knife crime and anti-social behaviour.”
QPR CEO Lee Hoos added: “It was always felt that a natural ceiling would be reached in terms of the impact we could have on the Foundation through the exposure it would garner from the stadium rename.
“There has been some incredible coverage and we are very proud as a club to have helped Kiyan become the first posthumous addition to the FIFA gaming platform.
“That campaign was voted as Community Project of the Year at the London Football Awards recently and was an incredible achievement by all involved.
“It has been a privilege to work so closely with Mark and his team but this isn’t the end of our relationship.
“We will continue to support The KPF in the future and will be proud to do so.”

The Ben Kinsella Trust
The Trust exists o promote knife-crime awareness – many people believe that knife crime is not their problem and will never affect them. Sadly this is being proven wrong more and more and we want to ensure that everyone knows the threat this problem poses to our lives. To educate children of all ages of the consequences of knife crime and what it can do to a family – by ensuring children as young as primary school age know the difference between right and wrong and will never consider picking up a weapon, be it through peer pressure, fear or simply believing it is cool, we aim to send the message to kids today that carrying a knife is not acceptable. Above all, Ben’s family urge anyone who carries a knife or weapon to lay it down and think about the pain and suffering they may cause.
