Ex-PL boss rejected Cardiff job in the hope he can join Southampton or West Ham

According to reports, Tony Pulis snubbed the chance to manage Cardiff City, with his eyes on a return to the Premier League with Southampton and West Ham United.

61 year old Pulis failed at getting Middlesbrough into the Championship play-offs come the end of last season – which lead to fans demanding for him to be sacked.

Boro decided to part ways with the former West Brom boss when the decision was taken not to extend his contract.

He has been out of work since May and now it’s claimed that he snubbed a return to his home country when Cardiff wanted him as a replacement for Neil Warnock.

After struggling in the Championship, he is allegedly not interested in a move to another second division club and somewhat thinks he’s good enough to manage in the Premier League.

Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl is said to be hanging onto his job after some poor results, including the 9-0 home defeat to Leicester City.

Manuel Pellegrini also is a risk of departing West Ham after picking up just two points in the last six games.

Fans took to social media to express their delight at the Cardiff job not being given to Tony Pulis while others compared him and new boss Neil Harris – find out what they said on it by clicking on the next page.
