An ex-Nottingham Forest star has been sentenced after making threats to shoot and kill a Dutch prime minister according to reports this week.

Roy’s response was translated from Dutch as saying “You’ll get a headshot soon”.
He was sentenced last Thursday in the Hague, where he was ordered to do 80 hours of community service.
He was also placed on probation for two years, with a prison sentence of four weeks to follow if he re-offends within that time.
The offence occurred in April this year and with further details being made public, it’s really got people talking.
According to articles published out in Netherlands, he is said to have posted the tweet because he is ‘fighting for the children who are being abused, trafficked and mistreated’.
It is in relation to a child welfare scandal in Holland. A police report was filed which then led to his arrest.
Roy spent three years at the City Ground outfit, between 1994 and 1997, making a total of 85 appearances. He arrived from Italian club Foggia, having previously played for Dutch giants Ajax where he made a name for himself by playing over 120 matches for them and won the UEFA Cup in 1992.
Roy, who won 32 caps for Holland in his career, also went on to represent Hertha Berlin in Germany as well as Dutch side NAC Breda.
Bizarrely, he would go on to have a brief stint at non league Cumbrian side Workington in 2004 before heading into coaching, joining previous club Ajax where he then worked as head coach of the AFC Ajax E-Youth before becoming head coach of Jong Ajax in the summer of 2010.
During the Covid pandemic, Roy began spreading numerous conspiracy theories through his Twitter-account, many concerning the pandemic. In October 2020, Roy tweeted threats to journalist Chris Klomp, who has publicly criticised the spreading of Covid conspiracy theories.
