He just finished the season with French Championnat National 2 side Vannes OC, where he scored 3 in 18 games since 2018.
When asked if it was his last campaign, he replied: “Yes. It’s a bit annoying to end this way, I had imagined it differently, with my family and my friends for the last game, but that’s how it is, there are more important things at the moment… In all case, for various reasons, it was already planned for several months that it would be my last season. My wife is also in business creation, so in terms of the pace of life and schedules compared to children, it became complicated. We dedicated 15 years of our lives to football, it was time to reciprocate and change the roles a bit. I also knew a lot of physical glitches this season, it was quite a hassle…”
After he was questioned if you had to remember a moment in his career, what would it be, he said: “I rather have three. With Bournemouth, on the penultimate day of the 2014-2015 season, we received Bolton in a staggered match, and if we won, we were 99% sure of reaching the Premier League (3-0 victory). We’re going up that night. It was great. The second was on the last day of the same season, it was a sign, we were playing at Charlton, my former club where I had spent extraordinary moments, with a real osmosis with the fans. So closing the loop there, with an audience of Charlton who had applauded me, supported, it was something crazy. It was a great moment (3-0 win).
“Finally, I always dreamed of playing a playoff final at Wembley to go up to the Premier League. With Reading, we beat Fulham in the semifinals before going to play the final in this stadium (in 2016-2017). I had the impression of realizing another dream, it was very emotional ( final lost against Huddersfield on penalties).”

Was absolutely heartbroken when we sold him. A top, top baller and a Charlton legend. Thank you for the good times Yann!

Remember when he played for Bournemouth last game of the season. You could see he hated scoring against us but couldn’t help it with his class. Super player.
— Phil Dunn (@PhilDun16442388) April 22, 2020
Always gave 100% and had so much class. Dont think we’ve had many players who’s loved by all fans unanimously but think we can all agree that Yann was the exception to this ❤️
